  1. My movie server goes to sleep when not in use. Last parity check was 70 days ago because it was most likely asleep when the 1st of the month came around. Every now and then (a couple of months) I have a look at the GUI. I write data to it probably every other day. I tried to add a large file yesterday and finder in OSX came up with "disk is full". I entered the GUI via my phone just before I went to sleep to look at the disk space and found two errors: Disk 5 in error state (disk dsbl) and Disk 7 in error state (disk dsbl ) When I saw them on my phone for some reason I never noticed the dsbl to most likely mean disabled. This morning I woke the server, both drives wouldn't do any smart tests and I could get anything from them. I stopped and put in maintenance mode and the disks were missing. I restarted the server and now the disks are missing but show up in "Unassigned Devices". I didn't scroll down enough during maintenance mode to see if they were in unassigned. Both have SMART reports that say they have completed without error. I tried a short SMART report they both passed. So right now I've got two 4 TB drives missing from my array with the content being "emulated" apparently and two 4TB drives as unassigned devices waiting to be added. What should I do?
  2. It wasn't my unRAID server it was me being mounted as Guest by accident on login.
  3. Could this be it? https://forums.sonarr.tv/t/osx-access-to-path-is-denied/11620
  4. I just ran the new permissions tool and I'm getting the same problem. Access Denied
  5. For some reason, I can't write to my unRAID share that holds my TV Shows. Earlier when it would connect in OSX when I selected info it said "you have custom access" in the permissions section. In Windows 7 at the same time, it said had "read only" and I also saw "permissions are incorrectly ordered which may cause some entries to be ineffective" At different times it doesn't let me create folders and Sonarr running on OSX can't move files to the server. I just get permission denied. Haven't had this problem before. Where do I start?
  6. I have my Movies on an unRAID server. My MacBook Pro runs Emby and it's set to scan for new movies every day at 7am and 4pm. If I have been using the server during the day or just before a scan it works fine. If I haven't used it recently, when Emby starts scanning it thinks the first 300-odd movies have been deleted and removes them from the library. Is there any way of getting my server to be ready for the scan automatically? Like a scheduled disk spin up?
  7. Thank you for everyone's help, much appreciated!
  8. Thanks for that. I will swap disk 14 as it's just sat there and I have a few of them. Would it be worth replacing the sata cables? To keep an eye on it do I just run diagnostics in a few week's and compare the numbers?
  9. So should I run SMART tests on the parity and disk 14 and post here?
  10. I checked my server the other day and noticed an "array health report [FAIL]" warning and 107 errors on the parity disk and disk 14 had lots or relocated sectors. I ran a parity test which came up fine but it still said there had been 107 errors on the main screen. I've got a 2TB hot spare to replace disk 14 which keeps relocating sectors nearly every time I log in. I'm on a 2nd of 3 cycles preclearing a 4TB to replace parity. I went on this afternoon to see how the preclear was going on and the errors weren't there anymore, it now says 0. Does parity actually need replacing now it says 0? If I have to replace both which do I replace 1st, disk 14 or the parity disk? Thanks
  11. You will tell us. Run in the foreground to see what it does. I have have that RAM and it works fine for me. Are you running an 8086 or greater? Then it is enough. So if I run it and it can't cope it won't crash? I've no idea if it is 8086, it's this one: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/amd-sempron-140-processor-04820926-pdt.html
  12. I've got 16TB in my unRAID server using a AMD 140 Sempron and 1GB of RAM. It only holds Movies (about 2000 at present). Will cache_dirs work after installation without adjusting any settings? Can my RAM/CPU handle it? Thanks
