  1. What exact problem are you faced with, please post error message. Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
  2. I own a N36L with 5 gigs of RAM. Would PS3mediaserver run along with sab, sick, beard?
  3. Over at avforums somebody patched the newest N36L-Bios to have AHCI-Support for the ODD-port: http://www.avforums.com/forums/networking-nas/1521657-hp-n36l-microserver-updated-ahci-bios-support.html Still using the Russian BIOS, but I might give it a shot.
  4. Totally overlooked that. Sounds great, I might give it a try soon.
  5. Hey neilt, sorry for being offtopic, but what is the advantage of running nzbget instead of hellanzb or sab? Is there a webinterface for it? p1lot
  6. 4 gigs here, already started cache_dirs and it's working great. thank you for another great unraid-extension joe!
  7. I'm about to try cache_dirs for the first time, but have a preclear process running. Running both at the same time isn't a problem is it?
  8. When I created my array for the first time, I pre-cleared all disks and it was all fine. I then added them to my array. It turned out, one disk has failed (no temp, lots of read/write errors, it turned out I didn't put it strong enough in the hot swap bay, but that's another story). As this drive was faulty, I put it out and my array config got rendered invalid, thus I recreated my unraid usb stick and assigned all the drives from scratch. The creation of the array went fine without clearing by unraid itself, even though preclear_disk.sh -t /dev/sdX on all the array disks showed clearly, that the preclear signature is gone. Then I used the Format button to format all the drives. Let me know if what I did was correct or if I should have done another preclear-cycle (I already did 3-4, depending on the drive). Hopefully my parity is valid.
  9. Damn I just got my N36L today, should have waited. Only paid 153 Euros plus 14.99 Euro shipping though, can't beat that I guess.
  10. What is a recommended card for a 7-disk build? I am leaning towards the Rocket 620, but wouldn't mind cheaper alternatives.
  11. You convinced me now. Before I drop the order, could you give me your feedback on this configuration: - Microserver N36L 250gb-version - 4GB Kingston RAM (KVR1333D3N9) - 6 x 5K3000 3TB - 1 x 2,5" harddisk for sabnzbd downloads - Some mounting device for 2 x 3,5" HDDs in the ODD slot (any idea what kit I could buy to make this setup work?) - Some lowprofile 1-port SATA card, though I'm having trouble finding one. What do you think?
  12. Thanks for your input. I am really not sure because I could get the N36L for about 180 euros. But then I would need to get some ECC Ram. On the other hand the Fractal R3 is nice case and its easy to add 8-11 drives. Questions over questions, I am really not sure what to get as it's just a secondary server.
  13. Where is the 2,5" disk located that comes with the N36L? My ideal setup would be 6 x 3 TB disk and the 2,5" disk as the appdisk. Is this feasible without much of a hassle?
  14. preclear_disk.sh -A /dev/sdX is recommended http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=11808.msg112537#msg112537
  15. I just finished preclearing my drives and added them to my array. During the parity calculation, I decided to change the data drive order so all the Hitachis and WDs are together. Now when I change the config, unRAID tells me "invalid configuration, missing drives". I then formatted my stick and created it from scratch, everything is fine. but the preclear-signature is gone (preclear_disk.sh -t /dev/sdX). Should I preclear again before creating the array or just let unRAID clear the disk?
