so you tried both options and its still not visible?, sorry to ask but you reply wasnt clear. assuming yes then can you try a different browser, it could be a plugin/addon causing a problem, it could even be cookie related. if all else fails then stop the container and delete all files/folders located in /config (whatever this maps to on your host) for this container and then restart.

Attempted on Chrome and Firefox, (Chrome adblocker disabled within domain / Firefox only plugin is for printing)

Selected krusader from right click menu

    closed window

    restarted from Docker screen

Same gray background with no interface for krusader

Not sure where you are telling me to delete from.  I have bein following along videos to the best of my ability from SpaceinvaderOne.  Beyond that, I have slowly attempted troubleshooting without causing issues until I am better versed on this.

Could you please tell me where I should be deleting from?

WIll it recreate necessary files if I delete... or what should I expect to happen?

it will, this is how openbox (window manager) works, right clicking the icon in the taskbar closes the running application. if you happen to do this you have 2 options to start it again:-

    @sekrit try the following:-

    1. right click the desktop (not the taskbar) and select 'krusader' from the menu item

    2. restart the container and it will auto start krusader

@binhexI see what you mean  (from within noVNC).  I selected Krusader.  and then I restarted Krusader from the Docker menu.

I Unfortunately still have no Krusader interface, just the gray screen.

Well, now I am in the same boat as you.  I was playing around trying to see it I could get the same condition as you got you self in.  When I right clicked on the Krusader icon down the task bar, the icon disappeared!   And nothing seems to work to bring it back.

I am hoping that @binhex will jump up and tell us what to do---  Hopefully short of uninstalling the Docker and reinstalling it.

I'm fine with installing and reinstalling, I never had anything in my taskbar, or anything else from VNC or Krusader to begin with.

I appreciate your time, Brother.  ?

    and hopefully @binhex will assist.

I am not sure if you are pointing to the windows task bar at the bottom, outside of the browser or not, but windows is not showing any VNC applications down there.  It only comes up with a new Chrome tab, with the left VNC menu slide out bar, and the gray background.  ?

Look down to the bottom of the Krusader VNC window and click on the icon to see if it is possible that the app was just minimized.

This I what I have, I am not sure where to look for it to be minimized. Is this the menu I should be in?

At the bottom of the main page is a power down button. If you have tabed view, you have to go to array operations to find it.

Got it.  Thank you SO MUCH.

While I have you.  Might I ask how to ssh into UNRAID from windows?  I downloaded Cmder (because so many people told me that it is better and simpler than Putty (especially since I haven't used either).  Any chance that you could show me an example of what the command line should look like when I type it in?

I have used the plug in since they where available and never experienced an unclean shutdown.

Dynamic buttons just calls the same shutdown as if you use the main tab shutdown.

You could try running fix common problems in troubleshooting mode to get the log from the shutdown.

Which version of unraid are you running?

DEAR GOD!!!!! IS THERE A "MAIN TAB" SHUTDOWN???

Please, Sir.  Do you have a screen shot?, I have been googling for hours over the past few days to figure out why dynamix isn't working.    I have NO idea why a power button wouldn't be out in the open like the dynamix one is... Please help us all out with a visual.

    Thank you, Sir.

I'm interested in a definitive answer to so in an attempt to gather enough information to reply to this question I typed

    shutdown --help

at the command line and, to my irritation, my server shut down! So that's certainly one way! I was rather hoping it would give me some information instead though  >:(

Hopefully someone who really knows the answer will chime in but I think the preferred ways include:

    1. via the GUI - stop the array, and then power down

    2. via the command line:

    powerdown

(not sure about this one - it appears to be the official Linux command but

    shutdown

certainly works, though probably deprecated - it's a bit confusing at the moment. I had the Powerdown plugin installed under unRAID 6.1.9 and the 6.2 betas and RCs but removed it before updating to unRAID 6.2 final)

    3. briefly press the power button

    4. press CTL+ALT+DEL on an attached keyboard (presumably this initiates a reboot, rather than a power down - I think this used to be caught by the Powerdown plugin so maybe it's now ignored)

    5. via a UPS signalling its timeout (needs to be configured)

So if anyone else can add any information I'd be interested too. Now, to power up my server again!

For 1. You stated: "via the GUI - stop the array, and then power down".

But, I am unclear about where the power down function is.  Is it still in the GUI?  Are you telling us to press the power button?  Please clarify... Because while I can only speak for myself, I am admittedly frustrated that the developers of this OS would allow setting up VMs, servers, and dockers to be easier than shutting down the freaking system.  Maybe it's just me, but I find it perplexing.

Anyone who can aid me in restarting, I would be greatly appreciative (I am a caveman, so pictures and and glyphs aiding the instructions would also be very welcome and helpful). .

I always laugh at these types of posts, since the unRAID license is the cheapest thing in my server!

    Thanks for the laugh.  ?

  10. I am FREAKING out!  I cannot seem to figure out why my drive will not clear.  I just got this WD Red Pro 10TB.  My previous Toshiba 8TB took a long time.  But this WD Red Pro has seemed to given me issues.

After experiencing a restart due to unresponsive UI, clearing seems to have picked up from where it left off.  I don't know how or where from here.  But, I could use some Jedi level guidance.  ?

You would have to flip the bios setting for RST every time you wanted to switch between unRaid and RST, since RST doesn't work in linux/unRaid...  Too much hassle or risk of accidentally wiping something you didn't want to wipe IMO...

I just have mine set with RST disabled...

    Ok... soooo, I'm stuck.

I have entered safe mode three different ways(prompt, shutdown-shiftKey, and command prompt.  When I enter UEFI and switch to AHCI, I only get a black screen, a few icon flashes, and return to uefi.

When I do, I check boot order, I tried both m.2, with no luck.

I always have to return to RST raid to assure that I do not destroy my install for no reason.

  14. OK...

I am finally back home and in front of my system.  My USB has UNRAID written & ready... BUT:

I intended to switch use cases from full system access production rig, to booting up unraid to run VM for certain applications.

    PROBLEM:

My primary boot is: Intel RST RAID 0 dual m.2 (windows 10 PRO).

However, according to instructions, I have to switch from INTEL RST(RAID) to AHCI for UNRAID to access the drives.

I have not saved it, but according to a UEFI warning, I could lose files from raid (likely my windows install).

So, is there a way to keep my RST RAID as is for my m.2, and use AHCI for my HDDs through SATAIII?

Install trial version, see if it works.  Your proposed method of running is a pretty fringe use case.  I don't see why it wouldn't, though, just ignore the NVMe RAID in unRAID.

    Awesome!!  Thank You.

I ordered a sandisk USB drive and it should be here on Friday.

If it works, all that i'll need to do is figure out if HTC Vive lighthouses:

a.) Support more than one headset at a time through a VM

b.) Need to be connected a particular way for headsets with VM allocations/pass-throughs.

We've purchased an HTC Vive here at Lime Technology and have been testing with it extensively.  So far, it's working fantastic!  USB controller pass through is going to be a requirement most likely (still no success with simple assignment), but when you do that, it works very very well!

    THANK GOD I FOUND THIS!!!

After a day of trying to find out how two lighthouses can be used for multiple vm vive users, I almost lost it.

    How are they effectively connected?

The real minimum now is 2G, (and that'll be tight)   4G+ you'll be fine.  Don't go over 32Gig though as that'll introduce some further complications.

And there's no real benefit to having a larger drive.  Faster (ie: USB3 vs USB2) doesn't bring any real benefits either

    Thank You :-)

  18. I see that there is a requirement for the USB flash Drive to range between 512MB - 32GB.  Before I purchase the flash drive, would there be any benefit to getting a larger one?  I mean, should there be an expectation for more data to be added to the drive?

I would like to make an informed purchasing decision.

    Thanks in Advance

  19. Hi,

I had a system built at the beginning of the year.  It currently has an Asus Rampage VI Extreme loaded with two NVME drives in RAID 0 for the boot drive.  RAID Intel RST (or something like that)  is set in the UEFI.

I have two questions of concern:

1.) Will UNRAID not run with this set to RAID instead of AHCI in the UEFI?

2.) Can UNRAID work, ignoring those drives, if I do not load them into the pools?

I am doing all of this to mod my system to handle a dual gaming/virtual desktops scenario when friends come over. I normally use this system for CAD/Motion Picture Editing/Music Production, and perhaps soon, will try my hand at 3D modeling and rigging...

So, when not entertaining, I would like to return to the FULL resources of my system for work.

... I have NEVER seen this mentioned anywhere, but I am VERY curious about the answer to this next question:

3.) If I take out the UNRAID USB stick, will it boot from my RAID 0 NVMEs?
