    Hi Guys
Switched recently my build from Ryzen 7 3700x hoping to get less power consumption was pretty happy with the result.

I have two servers, i changed only the Backupserver for now.

    MB Supermicro X13SAE-F

    CPU: Intel 12700

    RAM: 64GB ECC DDR5 Kingston

    BeQuiet! Dark Rock TF2

    2x 1TB Cache NVME

    1x 500GB  VM NVME

    5x 16TB Toshiba MG08

    1x Ironwolf 8TB

With the old Build i had a Powerconsumption of 110W with my Switch connected to it. Now i have a power consumption of about 55w. Will post more infos after i done with the Mainserver where is the only thing connected to the other USV.

Hi, thx for sharing. What PSU are you using? Do U have a HBA for the drives, or directly connected to the SATA ports of the board?

  2. Hi All!

Switched recently my build from Ryzen 9 5900x hoping to get less power consumption but was pretty disappointed with the results.

    I5 10400

    ASRock B560M Pro4

    16GB (2x8) 2666 non ECC Ram

    Corsair R550X PSU

    3x 18 X18 TB Exos

    2x 8 TB WD

1x 1TB NVMe for Docker - always running

2x 500GB SSD Pool - spun down when not needed

2x 500GB SSD Pool - spun down when not needed

    1x LSI HBA 9270-8i

    10G RJ45 XG-C100C Adapter

In idle with all disks spun down I get 60-68 Watt from the wall

While using Plex the consumption rises to 86-100 Watt.

Tried using powertop autotune, but it didn't seem to help.

Slowly I think that 68 watt is best I can get. With Ryzen 9 I had 80-90 Watt in Idle.

Slow as well, so not an Unraid problem.

sory, but i figured it out. it is an unraid issue. after i downgraded back to 6.9.2 the speeds went back to full write speed of 1gbit...gonna check out if 6.10.3 will do the deal, otherwise revert back. so 6.10 somehow borked the write speeds to cache drives. found other users on reddit complaning.

p.s. went to 6.11 rc4 and having no issues there. full expected write speed of 60-70 MB/s

  4. Thx for the responses.

But this is the funny thing. I doubt it's laptops fault.

    Over WiFi 6

    Laptop to ISP - 500mbit

Laptop to Other Devices on the Network - 1gbit

Laptop to Other NAS - 1gbit

Laptop to Unraid - 100mbit while writing/reading to/from SMB share

So is it really my laptop? If it is, why 1gbit to other NAS (Synology)? This is the point where I am trying to solve a riddle.

P.S. going to use iperf now and see what comes out

    To Unraid

P.S. iva got Intel AX200 Adapter on my laptop and those seem to have issues. Will maybe try to switch to another one.

But i as still confused: why is speedtest.net showing 500 mbit?

  5. Dear all,

hope everyones well. I bought a new laptop recently after selling my Gaming PC (Windows 10 Pro 64BIt, Build 19044) and it uses Wifi 6.

I was pretty sure the tranfer speeds to Unraid would be pretty fine, since the new laptop is situated near router (1-2 Meters)

    Wifi conncetion via Laptop.

    vcsemDb.png

But i determined with regret, that transfers to and from server are 10-12 MB/second (100 mbit cap)

I also have an Xpenology running and checked transfers to that server reaching 110-115 MB write and read speed.

Also Speedtests to Internet show me full ISP speed 500/50.

I also tried another Laptop with Wifi 5 and could get 60-80 MB to Unraid.

I was writing to Unraid cache (NVMe SSDs) where i normally get the full speed.

What am i missing? Why is WiFi speed to Unraid caping?

Hope some1 will have an idea

    Have a nice Sunday

  6. Liebe Community,

    Was ist vorhanden?

  7. Hi every1, Duplicati have been workign like a charm for me till 20 of march.

now i get an Error  Disk full. Path /tmp/dup-b on all of my backups.

Dr. Google said i should clean up the tmp folder...but it is clean i have no files there. or am i in a wrong /tmp folder?

    i checked in root /tmp

this settings i am using for backups

any ideas what i am missing?

    SOLUTION:

found a solution myself. changed in the web ui in Settings/Advanced tempdir command to a different location. Seems to work for now.

With which app you trying to map? Android or iOS?

i am actually trying to add them in windows under explorer. i think i will try to setup Nextcloud and swag from the scratch. but i need to know what to do to be able to also delete the files if i connect the drive where nextcloud data is stored in windows.

  9. 38 minutes ago, skois said:

You can to go Tools > New Permissions and run it on nextcloud share.
But after you delete the files. you have to initiate a scan from nextcloud's console.
But nextcloud docs say that should be avoided.

Do you want to do it for one time? Or part of a workflow?
If its one timer, ok. But not as a workflow.
    Look for other solutions

thx, it should be a permanenet solution. i got lot of stuff auto uploaded from phone to nextcloud and i would need an option to sort those things, but not via nexcloud UI ;(

  10. Hi every1,

went through the whole thread but could only find some small hints towards my "problem"

running nextcloud on unraid which is not exposed and not using letsencrypt for reverse proxy or smth, only local use

if there a way to delete files from nextcloud folders via windows explorer?

I connected the unraid nextcloud share in Windows but can only read, but not write/delete.

already tried to set the share to public with no luck. any ideas what else can be done?

    thx in advance

  11. Dont know if it the right place to post my issue, but i will try.

Using spaceinvaders video i could get OpenVPN Server running on my unraid and it worked flawlessly with my domain till something broke. cant figure out the issues on my own.

I think it has to do somethign with CNAME entries at my Namecheap domain provider

    i have following entries

CNAME entry 1    Host: www Value: mydomain.com

A+ dynamic DNS Entry  @ and my static ip

i am not using duckdns and it have been working till now without any problems

i try to use openvpn on my phone to login into my home network and it is "Looking up for DNS" all the time

any ideas from the community for this? dont want to start messing around with duckdns

P.S. used duckdns and it works, just would like to know how i messed up the namecheap settings ;(

Dear all, I've now read through the whole thread.  Am I correct in assuming what was called storj and similar is now just called Sia?  Also, is this still a viable thing running a storage system via the unraid docker image also now called sia?  I also note discrepencies like we're supposed to fill in the amount of available storage in the docker yet that option no longer exists in the container.  Are we supposed to add this manually or is it now no longer needed?  I think we need some renewed clarity, hopefully updated at the beginning of this post.

Hi. No, it is not Sia. Storj V3 is an Own Project. Sia is Sia. if you need any assistance on config, just let me know and i will post my config here. My first config went down due to DB corruption. But after i updated to 6.8.0 it should be good now. i will try to setup my docker on coming weekend.

It should be the other way around - you should not be letting any ports through to Unraid that you have not explicitly decided that it is safe to do so.

i found out the root cause. in my router DMZ was activated and pointed towards Unraid. Switched it off and cant reach my Box anymore.

OpenVPN access still working. Case solved as it seems to me. Only Nextcloud and OpenVPN ports are forwarded to Unraid internal IP.

  14. 1 hour ago, primeval_god said:

Do not do this. This is why your machine is exposed to the internet. I am not sure what you were trying to accomplish but directly forwarding to unRAID's webserver port(s) is the wrong way of doing it.

The unRAID GUI is not secure enough to be exposed to the internet in this way.

if u ask me i have currently no idea how it happened. what ports are unraid webserver ports? i will close them in my router.

  15. Hi every1, could not really read out an answer from further post.

I currently have bought a domain name and have forwarded it to my unraid.

When i ener my domain name xxxxxxxx.com i get forwarded to Unraid GUI login page and it is not secure, seems to me my machine is exposed to internet and every1 who enters my domain will land on Unraid GUI landing page.

I also have an created an open vpn to be able enter the data. so data can ONLY be seen using openvpn.

If there a way to secure Unraid GUI for external usage? i could net remember being able to login via external browser to my Unraid GUI but something seems to have changed lately and i can now without using openvpn.

What could happen? Without knowing my password no one would be able to login to unraid GUI i suppose?
