Thanks. I don't understand your question. The destination is already there. Events_1 I already copied the disk into the array but I'm not sure if it was a complete copy and want to either confirm tat it is or complete it if it isn't

Just to review. I copied the disc into the array in two parts. The end result via properties was that there were 3000 more files in the source than the destination. How can I be sure that the copy is complete or correct, or if not, add the missing files. Thanks.

Thanks! I've never used a command prompt so I want to be crystal clear if you don't mind to make sure I am doing the exact right thing for the right purpose. A few questions. 1) In the new command prompt where do I put the name of the source disk and the name of the folder in the array? 2) Exactly What result will this yield for me? 3) do I copy and paste this in the command prompt? 4) where can I find more info about rsync and the various commands and what they do? Thanks!

Hi I started copying an 8tb disk and the power cut on the server. I started again copying selected folders that weren't copied. I deleted some folders in the destination to make sure that there weren't any partially copied folders. Now the file numbers are not equal between the disk and the folder I put it in. -off by about 3000 . How exactly do I do the copy again , knowing that it will skip the files that are there and copy the ones that are missing so that the numbers will be exact. and I can be assured that it is an exact copy. Or what else can I do to be assured that this was an exact copy and what can I do to fix it if it wasn't. Thanks Jon

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I'm not using anything RAID. I'll have to check with my nephew. If I'm not using raid cards How big a deal is it to get it started back up once I put the discs in a new enclosure?

Hi I'm a photographer. I'm not a computer guy. My nephew knew I needed a network storage vs my jbods and set up the unraid server for me and I'm figuring it out with all the amazing help on this forum. And loving it. Thanks!! I now have a physical issue that is probably beyond the scopes of this forum but .... Overnight I was doing a large copy (8tb) and I woke up this morning and my server is not on. And the box won't power back up. I just replugged the cables into another power strip. Same power source. It powered on for a minuted and powered off again. Power source is fine. No switched fuses. Also , no lights on the machine are on when it is plugged in. Except the plug for the ethernet cable. I don't remember what it was like before. If willing please help guide me into a solution to fix it. Thanks. Or what I could do next. Also.... what if the machine is dead. Can the disks be placed into another machine and all will be fine ? New Topic. I was copying a disc through krusader and closed the web interface and I thought that the copying would continue in the server on its own. When i reopened unraid and restarted krusader the progress box was not there. Is it still copying in the background or did it stop? How can I tell? And if it did stop does that mean that I have to keep the computer and the web interface open during the whole copy? Thanks very much Jon

Thanks. Can I stop the erase midstream? and would that be ok to add to the array? Also as it is preclearing the word that I see is preread. Is that the same thing?

A few more questions. The other issue was solved. Thanks! When doing preclear I chose preclear and erase. 1) erase is taking a LONG time. Why would I want to erase? Can I stop it in the middle of the erase and will the drive be ok to add to the array? Next time what preclear setting do you recommend? Is preclear by itself good enough? Thanks! Jon

Hi How does one decide on the smb security settings. ? I'm not a knowledgeable computer person. Someone set up this unraid system for me. but i changed flash drives and need to reset those settings but I don't have a clue as to how they should be set. Thanks so much for your help. Jon

Now I tried getting another replacement key and got this Sorry, an error (403) occurred registering USB Flash GUID ________________________100432 The error is: GUID '0781-_________________100432' is already registered to another user

i can imagine it's confusing i didn't reboot after installing the replacement key and thought the reason it didn't work was that i didn't follow instructions right. so then i reread the instructions and did what i thought i was supposed to have done originally which was manually copy original pro key file from my original drive and manually put it in the config folder of the new drive . replacing the key that was in the config folder of the new drive with the key from the old drive. rebooted it . still not working. what should i do? thanks!!
