  1. I know this is on ultimately on me, but an extra confirmation or even a checkbox acknowledgment when I go to stop the array but haven't stopped my VMs would be helpful. I'll stop the array to swap disks or shut down the server or something and then realize I just hard stopped all of my VMs. I don't use Docker, but I assume this feature would help those people as well.
  2. Thank you for posting your solution! This just worked for me. Went from arranging the sticks 8/16/8/16 to 8/16/16/8. Although I may have forced myself into single channel mode, unfortunately.
  3. When cache has a file on it larger than available space on most of your drives, it will try and fail to write the file to several of the array drives in order until it finds one that will fit the file. This causes Mover to take much longer than is needed. I feel it would be more efficient if Mover first got file properties of the file it was trying to move and then queried the different array drives to check free space before attempting to move the file. Example: Cache has a 100GB file on it and my 3 data drive array has 3 disks. Disk1 has 50GB free, 2 30GB free, 3 500GB free. Unraid will write 50GB to Disk1 and then write 30GB to 2 before finally writing the complete file to 3. It does delete the partial file when it is done on Disk1 and Disk2, but this is just a very slow process for large files that wastes a lot of time. Preferred behavior: Write the file to 3 since the OS is already aware of free space and it's not very expensive to check file size before a move.
  4. After restart, everything is in place to just start it again, so that's my next step. I was worried about data loss. I should be good from here. Thanks!
  5. The original disk is truly dead. You're right about unmenu. It can do some stuff but loads unRAID in an unresponsive frame. Looks like that restart is the next step. Running sync again won't be a problem.
  6. I don't know how to do that without the webGUI. Restarting might get me to that point, but I'm concerned what it would do to my data. It looks like a restart from this point would be as easy as "reboot" or "powerdown" though.
  7. Yes, the swap disable procedure from here: https://wiki.unraid.net/The_parity_swap_procedure for v5. It's v5. I can't get to any specifics without the webGUI. Absolutely looking at a migration plan after this. There's some versions with a wait? Like without any activity? My hard drive lights are still showing no activity. Can you help me determine if emhttp is running? I'm not great at the command line. Running "ps" from PuTTY just shows bash and ps running. That doesn't sound right. This information below was from PS Info in unmenu and I think it's what I need. It says that it is running, right? 8. I lost a data disk yesterday and replaced it with a disk larger than the current parity disk and let that to sync over night. I woke up this morning and it was progressing. 94%...95%....96% so I decided to give it more time. An hour later, the webGUI won't respond, but the server pings and I can access it via PuTTY. Hard drive lights show NO activity. I have access to the unenu plugin webGUI. I was able to get the following from there: What would you advise I do next?
