    SOLVED - Parity check keeps restarting - unRaid 6.6.7

    The parity check finished in about 11 hours, and reported 31 errors. 'Auto-correct errors 'was turned on, so I decided to do another parity check with 'auto-correct errors' off, to check whether the drives were actually error-free. But when I access the unRaid server web page to check progress from my PC, the parity check restarts . (I had no such problems with the above-mentioned parity check) Log files attached

    Yes  - I couldn't access the web page or any unRaid shares from my Win10 pc, so I did a hard reset. Should I attempt another parity check and try to save the syslog? When I start a parity check I soon get a warning about 40 reallocated sectors on disk 1, and the check seems to stall. If I refresh the Main web page, the parity check seems to restart. Would an extended smart test on disk 1 be an option?

    Clarification

    Thanks for the response - I'm not sure what you mean by 'mix disks and user shares when moving/copying'. Would you recommend using Krusader rather than sharing thru Windows? And is it ok to delete files from the array drives using Krusader?

    Thanks Squid - I shutdown all dockers, enabled Mover logging, rebooted and ran Mover again. Diagnostics log attached. The Mover log says that those files already exist, and I can see in Windows Explorer that they are on the cache and in the Movies folder on Disk 1 of the array. Should I just delete them from the cache drive? And just for interest's sake - is it ok to delete files from cache and array drives from Windows Explorer?

    Mover has left 3 movie files on the SSD cache since 2 January. I have tried manually invoking Mover but no change. Other files transfer ok. 

    System specs below - unRaid 6.6.6 - System log attached (Mover invoked at end of log) No change after reboot and Fix Common Problems. Any help appreciated

    Thanks for the advice...so if I install the Arch Linux PIA app on my unRaid server, all internet traffic will be via VPN? I'm trying to work out whether there is a preference for installing the PIA app, or for installing one of Binhex's VPN enabled apps and using privoxy. It seems simpler to just install the app and have all traffic routed via VPN, but are there any disadvantages?

    Hi - I'm trying to work out the best security approach for unRaid downloads. I use Binhex SABDNZB, Sonarr and Radarr with Usenet providers via SSL. Do the SSL connections mean I don't need a VPN? If a VPN is still recommended, what is the preferred approach? It seems that I could install the Arch Linux PIA application on my unRaid server, enable port forwarding and connect to a port fwding endpoint. Or I could install one of the Binhex VPN enabled apps, configure it for PIA port forwarding and privoxy and point Sonarr and Radarr to port 8118. Any recommendations gratefully received

    (SOLVED) System log growing too large

    Thanks Johnnie - no I don't know what they relate to. The only dockers running are duckdns and openvpn-as. I have just shut them down to see if those log entries are are related to either of them. I have also just removed Dynamix Local Master for troubleshooting purposes

    Hi - after a few days Fix Common Problems states that the system log has grown too large, and the system becomes less responsive - until I restart the unRaid server. Any help appreciated - diagnostics log attached

    Thanks for the response. At this stage i'm just wanting to set up ram drives on my Win10 HTPC and my unRaid server to check out network transfer speeds of my 10gb cards, (and keep hdd speeds out of the equation). And i've read that a ram drive can save a lot of SSD work during certain activities eg torrenting.     Cannot access unRaid shares via 10GB ethernet card

    Hi - my unRaid server has 3 ethernet adapters - 2 onboard 1GB adapters (with 1 disabled) and 1 Mellanox ConnectX-2 10GB addin card. My WIN10 PC has an onboard 1GB adapter and a Mellanox Connectx-2 10GB card. The 2 10GB cards are connected by Cisco SFP cable. Both mellanox cards have updated firmware. I can access the unRaid shares from my WIN10 workstation via the 1GB adapter, but not via the 10GB adapter. I can access the unRaid web gui using either the 1GB (192.168.1.50) or the 10GB ip address (192.168.50.2). I cannot map any of the unRaid shares using the 10GB ip address. 'TOWER' is visible in Windows Explorer, but I cannot connect to it. The unRaid shares are public and the unRaid server is local master. I have tried most troubleshooting steps (disable/re-enable SMB, etc) but no joy. Any assistance appreciated - diagnostics attached.

    Dynamix - System Temp

    Hi - I have created a sensors.conf in notepad++ using https://github.com/lm-sensors/lm-sensors/blob/master/configs/Gigabyte/GA-AX370-GAMING5.conf and copied it to \\TOWER\flash\config\plugins\dynamix and to \\TOWER\flash\config\plugins\dynamix.system.temp. I still get no results when I hit 'Detect'  in the Dynamix System Temp plugin (Perl is installed). My board is a Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K7, which the above-mentioned .conf said it would work with.

    Any suggestions gratefully received ;-)
