Oh. Yea. So. Update. Dunno if I mentioned or not, but I ended up deleting everything I did and starting over and *poof*...everything works perfect.
ZeroTier is AWESOME!!

Couldn't get into my one server so I shut down its ZT Docker. Boom, can get back in via LAN IP. No problem.
But I noticed that, once I did that, the one that I COULD get into via both only let me in through the ZT IP. Had to kill the ZT docker on that one, too. I think this is a ZT config issue...and I think I know what it is.I had the managed routes setup as "LAN.IP/24 via ZT.IP" for all my ZT hosts. I was thinking that I'd have to go in and do "LAN.IP via ZT.IP" but it won't let me do that. So now I'm kinda back to square one...

I have 2 unRAID servers and I installed ZeroTier Dockers on both of them. One of them, I can reach via LAN IP and ZT IP, one of them, I can only reach via ZT IP.
I'm kinda confused...lol Anyone else have any experience with ZT? I checked the networks settings and it all looks the same between the two. Not sure what's going on...

Probably best to ask in it's support thread

K. So. What I ended up doing was stopping the VM and Docker services, going into the Network Settings and manually entering a metric of 1000 for that interface. Cranked everything back up and we're back in business. Simple enough.

Could you static the 192 IP NIC without gateway (blank) and no bridge on it.
I can't do anything with it. Supposedly you can't modify an entry...only add or delete. Which is fine...I'd delete the 192 and add it back with a metric of 1000 so it's not used...but I can't get it to delete.

Did some digging (here, here) and playing around:
...and I still can't get it to work. It seems that you can't change a route once it's there. You can only delete it and re-add it. Cool. No problem.
When I try to do that, though, I get the "RENETLINK answers: No such process" error. Not sure why.
Ideas, anyone? I just need the 10.10.1.1 GW to be default! -

Did you ever get a solution to this? I have the same question.
Same here. I have 2 routers plugged into my server and it thinks the wrong one is the default route. How do we change it?
-
I noticed Community Apps couldn't connect so I cranked up a Terminal window and noticed I couldn't ping out. Went and looked at the network settings page and it looks like it seems to think the primary default gateway is 192.168.1.1...
The 192 address goes to a router that has no Internet access. That is used for my security camera system. The correct gateway is the 10.10 address. I tried changing the metric on the 192 address and can't, nor can I delete it.
How can I get rid of that default address?

I'm having similar issues with a few docker containers... very slow to start up and reach the running state. Go to the Dashboard tab for your unRAID, click on the binhex-NZBGet docker icon and choose 'Logs'. Your log should show if NZBGet started properly. Here's a snip of a successful start of the container:
I'm seeing similar issues with the Firefox docker container where it's VERY slow to process the container startup scripts. I haven't come across a solution yet so I patiently wait until the system shows the successful start in the logs before attempting to open the web UI. At least looking at the logs may give you a clue as to why it's taking so long to startup.
Yup...the log shows it's starting and running as you showed but the UI still won't connect. I don't really care about the UI...is there another way to get into the thing? I need to add some stuff to download.

Hi, everyone! I'm having an issue hopefully someone can help me out with.
I can't for the life of me get into this Docker container. I've stopped it then restarted it, completely removed it and reinstalled it, everything I can think of and I just get this:
I'm not sure what changed, but all of a sudden, that's all I get. Anyone else have this happen?

That's because there is already a topic dedicated to this container.
If you click on the container icon in unraid, there is a Support item that will take you to the correct page to get support for the container.
Alright. I'll check it out. Thanks.

Looking at the IP address, I would say that you should be looking at your web browser and its settings-- particularly the security settings.
Why do you say that?

I tried to post this in the Docker container forum but there was no "create new topic" button...

Just wondering. Thanks!! -

@rmp5s, you might want to read this post:

Which is a part of a longer thread about user share access SMB issues. If you begin here and read the next dozen posts or so, you will begin to gain an understanding of what is sometimes going on with any SMB system.

Please note in this second post, the fact that a client computer can have only one login to a SMB server! Accessing any public share is counted as a login. So make sure that Login will be with the User name and password that is required for the Private (or Secured) share!
Perfect, I'll read up. Thanks!
-
...but when I use the username and password I set, I can get in now that they're set to public. LOL!!
WTF is going on? lol -
And now that I set the share I'm trying to get into back to "Public", I'm still getting prompted for username and password...fantastic...
-
Is this a bug?
I recently locked all my shares down. I used to have them all mapped just fine but didn't really like having NO security on the shares at all, so I set them all to private, created a new user and granted that specific user access. However, when I try to access the share from various machines using those credentials, it acts like I don't have access. I can't map the drive like I used to because it says the credentials are wrong. Is there something more to this or does this feature just not work yet?

basically i think i just have to pick up a new controller card for this beast.. anyone have any suggestions?
I don't recommend running a card at all. The only reason I had to do all this on my machine was because the RAID controller is built into the motherboard. If yours isn't built in, just get rid of it altogether.

Once the hpsscli app is installed, go to /opt/hp/hpssacli/bld and run this command:
controller slot=0 modify hbamode=on -

What controller type did you pick for the vdisk? virtio / scsi / ide / sata?
Try picking SATA.
BSOD at boot is usually due to missing drivers e.g. virtio / scsi. SATA tends to be safer.
HA!! Simply switching it to SATA made it boot. Well THAT was easier than expected!! lol
Thanks!! -
I copied a physical drive to a vdisk yesterday and it won't boot. It's an old Windows 7 machine and it's bluescreen-ing at boot.
I went in through command line and diskpart and it is saying there are no volumes on the disk so I wanted to crank up GParted and see if I can fix whatever's screwed up. But, no matter what "OS install ISO" I select (GParted, Windows 10, etc), when I hit update at the bottom, the button changes to "updating..." and greys out, then...nothing...nothing happens. It just sits there. Is there a way to figure out what's making it unhappy? I wish there was a "verbose" option or something when it came to this...
Thank you!!
Combine drives from 2 seperate unRAID servers?
in General Support
Posted
Good afternoon!
I have 2 unRAID servers and I don't really need 1 of them anymore. I'd like to take the drives out of the one and put them in the other.
I suppose there's no way to do this without losing the data on the drives?
There are 4 drives total in the old server:
1 8TB parity
2 8TB storage drives
1 3TB storage drive
They'd be going into a machine that already has an 8TB parity along with 2 more 8TB storage drives.
Just wondering. Thank you!
