  1. Ok, so it looks like it was Plex downloads! One user was downloading some films to their tablet to watch while away on holiday! They haven't appeared in conversions, so were direct downloads, any ideas as to why they would use so much RAM? Someone is watching a film at the moment, it's 4K and happily transcoding down to 720p using QSV and the RAM is around 52%! So I'm puzzled?

  2. Hi, weird happening, suddenly the GUI was unresponsive, RAM was at 98% and lots of red notifications saying Undefined muliple times but not what is undefined!! I thought I'd have to reboot, but just as suddenly it came back! Plex only direct playing music so not that and it continued playing without stopping. I downloaded diagnostics, hopefully someone can tell me whats going on? I can see errors, but don't know if they are relavant? Thanks Tim

  3. Hi, all the disks stay spun up when Time Machine is running even though it's set to only use disk 3! Its been like this for quite a while now, I've tried wiping and starting a new backup and also tried changing the filesystem from xfs to zfs. Neither worked! It's MacOS High Sierra I'm backing up from. Anyone had the same? Or is a bug? One thing I noticed is that whenever Time Machine writes to drive 3 there are corosponding reads on all the other drives! (see screen recording) Cheers, Tim

Delete that snapshot and run a new scrub.

Ok thanks, had to delete a few more and now showing this:

Hi, I took a quick look at your log, but I'm just the GUI plugin developer, not a ZFS expert. However, your issue seems to be directly related to your ZFS config and devices:

warning: cannot send 'cache/appdata/PlexMediaServer@autosnap_2023-09-09_17:53:23_monthly': Input/output error
cannot receive resume stream: checksum mismatch or incomplete stream.
    Partially received snapshot is saved.
A resuming stream can be generated on the sending system by running:

I recommend you perform a pool scrub check for any possible checksum errors, and if the issue persists, post it to the General support thread here in the forum.

    Ok, thanks, I'll try that!

  7. Hi, after loads of issues changing to zfs I finally got to the stage of being able to run @SpaceInvaderOne's create datasets script and that ran without errors! So I set up his snapshot and replications script and every time it runs it fails to replicate the Plex dataset! It also would fail if I copied using unRAID file manager and also running the appdata.backup plugin, so I restored from an older backup and that fixed file manager copying and backing up in the appdata.backup plugin, but it still fails with zfs replication! Not sure what to try next? Thanks Tim

Unraid has no GUI replication feature with the stock install, I assume you are using the zfs master plugin, if so you need to post there:

Oh yes possibly! I'm using SpaceInvaderOne's script and that probably leverages the plugin? Can I move it or do I need to re-post?

  10. Ok after much testing, the server has a pcie usb card, so I tried plugging stick into that and it booted but with 169 ip address so couldn't connect! I remembered that the usb card was bound to vfio, so shutdown pulled the stick plugged it into my mac and found the vfio config deleted the bindings and put it back in server booted up and it works! Had to re-plug coral device and ups to the card as well to get them working! So far so good, it seems something has happened to the motherboard usb!! Thanks for your help :)
