Hmm ok. getting thin on idea's now. Have you tried working config without a vbios rom and see if the drivers install/load without error.
Edit: I say that can't remember if you even got windows setup or not?

Try this one. I think it's correct.

Just try putting the 3090 on 0x05 or something not in use, make sure not to change the part that is physical slot, first part i think it is. only change the virtual slot. check video space invader explains the difference.

Is slot='0x00 being used more than once? Virtio-net, virtio-serial and gpu looking at it.

Great info thread (esp since I dont have a TRX40 board yet!).
Re the two Matisse USB controllers with one only able to reset. Presumably that means unRAID USB on the OTHER Matisse one but all other controllers CAN be passed through?
Also (sorry not run UnRAID for a year or more) is this FLR thing done yet?
Thanks guys.. Wondering whether to splurge for a 24C TR for 3 VMs with GPUs 🙂Forgot all about this thread! haha.
I just swapped around the usb's that i pass through the other day without any issues on my system, so now thinking about it i don't think it's a issue anymore.
Yeah do it get one! beast chip's so many threads haha! although you never have enough just keep using them. 😂

What Unraid version are you using?
Have you tried machine type i440fx and "VFIO allow unsafe interrupts: " to yes in vm manager
-
Can you post your VM xml so i can look at it.
-
You just need to format the drive once then just add a vdisk for each VM on that drive. What unraid version are you using?

I've selected the sound and video controllers. The new cards don't seem to have usb.
I've tried both i440fx and Q35
Just took a look at this and am resetting my server now. Do you happen to have any recommended configuration for the vm. I've seen a lot of varying information, such as whether hyper-v is enabled, Q-35 vs 1440fx, booting from UEFI vs legacy, or even in the order of how to setup the vm. Such as vs setup
1. booting with vnc, installing all the drivers THEN rebooting with gpu passthrough
2. booting and setting up with vnc enabled and gpu passthrough
3. booting and setting up with only graphics cardI've tried just about every variation and am pretty much at my wits end. I'm hoping that modifying the boot menu alone will work.
VM setup it's been a while lol. As far as i can remember i passed 2070 super, audio and usb through when i created the vm's. I had to mess about a bit to find the correct usb's for each vm as i have 2 vm's with 2070 supers.
Make sure you have enabled all the options in BIOS for virtual machine, iommu etc...
My setup is as below if it helps

Also maybe try machine as i440fx
-
Have you got all parts of the 3090 card selected in iommu/vfio sound any usb etc...
-
It works just doesn't auto update. What can i change there is no settings for the plugin.
What UR version are you on?
-
This is not refreshing the data on mine unless i reload dashboard page.

You trying to use a vdisk image or just pass nvme through? as i didn't see path to drive in config.
I use unassigned devices with vdisk for my nvme if it helps.

I've got this up and running but how do config triggers and telegram etc...

Glad I stumbled upon this thread. I am just upgrading my server from an old Dual Xeon build to a TR 3990X on a Zenith II Extreme Alpha. Dockers seem to run fine after I disabled C-States in the BIOS but I cannot install a new VM to save my life. Every time I set up a new VM and dedicate some cores to it it takes like 5-10 min to get to the windows install logo. Whatever my lowest core selected in the VM template goes to 100% for that entire 5-10 min. Anyone have any suggestions?

There was a issue when setting up windows VM's. fix was setting it to use 1 core for setup then change back to full amount of cores. But i can't remember if that was for blank screen issue or what you are getting.

For your third card (980) you could use a pci-e cable. These are about 30 to 40 Euro.
I would like to know, how you configured your two gpus and your two vms. I am planing to buy a new system, a beefy one. What were the needed steps to get the two GPUs work? Thanks in advance.
I ditched the 980 in the end it seems to cause issues whenever i put in a unraid system! But yes, i didn't think of pcie extension lol.
The vm's just have the 2070's passed through. Works no problems it was the usb pass through from the MB that was a pain! there is a few threads about this on here.

Many thanks for this plugin worked for me sending wake from splashtop 👍
I had to send wake twice first one put the stopped vm into pause then second send set it to run.
-
Just setup a Asrock trx40 creator with 3970x. Plan was 2 x 2070 supers for vm's and a rtx 980 for bit of plex lol, No chance of getting them all in the system see photo's.
Passed through 1 x usb 3 controller fine to first vm but i had the FLR issue if tried to pass another one. Got round it by passing the usb c pcie to the other vm. The 2070 gpu's passed to vm's with no issues and i am using the gpu's audio as well. I don't need to use the onboard audio as gpu's are going to monitors via 20m fibre diplayports and 20m usb 3 active cables.
Also got 128gb of Corsair lpx ddr4 c16 no chance of getting it to run at 3200 crashes vm's and all sorts, but rock solid on 2666! what is everyone else running their memory at?

Just had the same issue with asrock x399 and the intel 3186 passed to win 10 VM.
Changed the alias bus to 0x06 in xml and it work a treat.
Many thanks guys!
