are you willing to sell the drives separately? -
See the post for some expander tests, both single and dual link: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=43026.0 Case#1 would probably be the cheapest option to go with. The other option I am entertaining is buying one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4U-Supermicro-BPN-SAS-846-7EL1-SAS8467EL1-SAS-SATA-24-Port-SAS1-Backplane-/142173451734?hash=item211a32b5d6:g:0wgAAOSwHsRYDkhF What controller would I need to get that backplane to work?
-
I only have two free PICE slots and need to connect to 24 drives. I can possibly leave 8 drives on the PCI controller now and move the others to PCIE. I am using one of the TAMS servers if that helps. Or I could change the backplane as well. What do I need to do that?

Hi guys, I need help looking for a 12 port PCIE controller. Any recommendations?
-
Apparently the Docker version isn't running the latest version of MineOS though Hi, hoping you could provide step by step instructions on how to do this. Or a link to the tutorial if available. THanks for your help.

It was indeed my network settings. DNS server was empty for some reason. Thanks for your help.

Settings look ok. I can access the internet from this machine...

Please help. Trying to install this plugin but get an error. FWIW, I get the same error for any other plugin I install. Thanks

Thank you for the positive note. All of them are barely used and are in excellent condition. I'd hate for them to collect dust and become obsolete before I have a need for them. For those interested, shoot me an offer. -

24 bay servers from Tam Solutions back in stock - $299 / data center pulls
leg0 replied to tr0910's topic in Good Deals!
Running 2x 2419EEs, 8GB ram, unRAID 5rc13, I am averaging 109MB/sec parity checks. I have Supermicro passive heatsinks and both CPUs are holding 40-42 deg C during parity checks, system temp 55 deg C. Using Kill-a-Watt, power consumption is 140W (parity check and SAB,SB,streaming to 2 XBMC and file read from 1 Win7 PC), 100W idle (with a TX750 PSU, 3x 120mm Cougar and 2x Arctic F8 fans). No luck with S3 suspend, I could not even find that option in BIOS after I upgraded to 3.5 BIOS FW required for running the 2419EEs. Maybe i just missed it. Does not sleep when using S3 suspend from SF. IPMI is great. I use it to turn the server on, then turn it off using powerdown when I don't need it up. If power consumtion was below 75W I might decide to keep it on all the time. -

The rails listed on the Supermicro site, both MCP-290-00057-0N and MCP-290-00058-0N, do not fit this chassis. They are designed for the newer SC846. The one that fits is an older MCP-290-00014-00, which is almost impossible to find. See this thread for more info: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1412640/are-you-looking-for-a-less-expensive-norco-4220-4224-alternative/1500#post_23370965 -

For the Norco fan wall installation, I followed the instructions on this thread: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1412640/are-you-looking-for-a-less-expensive-norco-4220-4224-alternative/1350 BTW, on that same thread you will find out that the rail kit i bought (00057) does not work with this (older) case. So I will have to return it. As far as the power supply, it depends on how many and what kind of drives you have. The HX750 can supply 62A at its+12V rail, should be plenty for 24 green drives, but may be lacking if you are using 7200rpm drives. I received the heatsinks yesterday. I am supposed to receive the CPUs tomorrow. I will play with it on the weekend to determine power consumption with single and dual 6 core 2419EEs. -
I got the MCP-290-0057-0N rail kit but is does not fit. I believe this and MCP-290-0058-0N fit on the newer versions of the SC846. I could be wrong but it looks like we are looking for MCP-290-0014-00 instead. Did a quick search but came up empty. If I find one I'll post it here, please do the same.

24 bay servers from Tam Solutions back in stock - $299 / data center pulls
leg0 replied to tr0910's topic in Good Deals!
Got mine about a week ago. Stock, it pulls about 200W at Unraid idle. Soft OFF mode, about 50W - this is the redundant power supply draw. After replacing the redundant PSU with an HX750, idle is 150W, soft OFF is 5W. So far I have flashed the MB, replaced the the 3 internal fans with 120mm Cougar fans mounted on a Norco fan wall, replaced the PSU, replaced the 80mm fans in the back. Not completely silent yet because the 80mm I have are not silent, and the CPU fan is a bit noisy. I have ordered two 2419EEs, passive heatsinks and silent 80mm fans and rack rail kit. By the way there was a link posted earlier, whether on this thread or on another about these servers, for the supposed 2419EEs. Turned out it was a link to regular 2419s. If you order 2419EEs on ebay, make sure they are part # OS2419NBS6DGN, which draw 40W. Standard 2419s, part # OS2419WJS6DGN, draw 75W. There is even an Amazon listing that is 2419EE in the description and product pic, but the # is regular 2419. I contacted the seller and he confirms it is regular 2419s. Below are the list of parts I bought, price I paid and links: Passive heatsink ($7 best offer) http://www.ebay.com/itm/230945961340?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 2419EEs ($35 best offer) http://www.ebay.com/itm/130868913695?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Rail kit ($65.35) http://www.ebay.com/itm/380649414685?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Norco fan wall ($12.50 best offer) http://www.ebay.com/itm/330795689120?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 -
preclear on more than one drive at once
leg0 replied to crankbearing's topic in General Support (V5 and Older)
Also if you use telnet and do not want to tie up your windows machine, I believe you can use "nohup" before the preclear command. This way you can turn off your windows machine without waiting for the preclear to finish. I have not tried this personally though.
