  1. so i have a server that got wet and the onboard eth port stopped working. The server boots and if i select GUI i can get to the browser/desktop but localhost doesnt load. I have a pcie nic i can add but the server doesnt seem to get an ip other than the self assigned 169.254.x.x. Is there a way i can modify a config file to use the add in nic? i have a replacement motherboard ready and backups of the boot usb. i am going to move the drives over eventually and get this server going again. I have the boot usb drive so no need to transfer license i think. Are there any other steps/guides id need to take to ensure a smooth mobo swap? ryzen 2600g, going from z470 to b450 motherboard, both gigabyte 3 2tb drives and 1 sd cache all sata
  2. I ended up getting a new board. Aorus x570 Master and almost everything passed fine. Bluetooth wont connect to my keyboard still. and 2020-04-20T22:17:49.302385Z qemu-system-x86_64: vfio: Cannot reset device 0000:0d:00.4, depends on group 45 which is not owned. 4. I'm 6.8.3 with your 5.x kernel. I have a x570 strix e and a 3950x. Trying to pass the audio hangs on flr... I've made a separate post earlier when I was trying on 6.9 beta and that didn't work either. There's some more information in that thread which is right below this one in motherboards and cpus.
  5. still just banging my head on this machine. i passed through 2 usb controllers and the non essential instrumentation. audio isnt working. the default virtualized nic didnt show up either. i managed to pass the samsung nvme drive and the 2.5gb lan but im met with super buggy hdmi audio and an error in the vm logs. I also would really like to pass bluetooth but i cant seem to find a way to get it to install drivers. 2020-04-14T03:00:30.394220Z qemu-system-x86_64: vfio-pci: Cannot read device rom at 0000:05:00.0 Device option ROM contents are probably invalid (check dmesg). 6. Any word on this? I have not been able to pass the on board audio regardless of how many hours I dump into trying different things
  7. can you offer some help? ive passed 2 usb controllers successfully but as soon as i try to pass the audio device it hangs at a flr even though i tried to append it out
  8. Did you get audio and usb passed through? I have the same board and I'm struggling to get anything working.
  9. Ive seen some stuff regarding passing the audio controller and usb ports to a vm and it being possible with a 5.x kernel with just a lone nvidia gpu and video=efifb:off i can get to a windows install screen and no errors. The vm hangs with a flr when i have the audio selected to be passed through. After reading quite a while, pcie_no_flr=1022:149c,1022:1487 seemed to work on some aorus boards (not sure if it was on an old rc i cant find), but it doesnt work on mine. Im not sure if i am required to edit the xml to add the two usb controllers to the vm in order to get the above to work. And as for editing the xml im am lost on the syntax and what is required for managed and addresses being listed seemingly twice. acs override is currently off and a pci bridge is in the same iommu as the usb controller so im not sure what to have it set to if passing the devices works via the xml edit additionally id like to pass one of the nics straight to the vm to get around the 5.x kernel throwing fits (something about docker and dhcp supposedly) some info as follows IOMMU IOMMU group 0:[1022:1482] 00:01.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. 10. I still cant get things working. openvpn connects but browser window shows error connection refused whenever i try to assess unraid gui or any docker
  11. I got a ddns set up from my asus router and port 1194 forwarded to the servers local ip. i can connect from my mobile on the opevpn -as but cant access the unraid gui or any dockers. settings are as follows: docker settings, bridged, privileged, host port 3 1194. in the openvpn network settings i entered my hostname and set protocol to udp and port 1194. under vpn settings/routing i added my local subnet 192.168.1.0/24 no matter what i else i try it says connection refused on my mobiles browser. ive been struggling with this for days
