  1. Hi guys,

    Just purchased a new dell inspiron 5676 w/ Ryzen 7 2700. Right out of the box, i'm trying to do a fresh unraid install with the latest stable version, and every time unraid gui goes to boot, it appears to start booting normally, then hangs on a blank screen with a blinking cursor. using a 32gb sandisk. here are the things i've tried so far:

    - unraid usb creator w/ and w/o uefi option

    - manually install unraid from zip on usb device (and activating the makebootable.bat file)

    - changing between usb 3.0 and 2.0 ports on mobo

    - booting from usb w/ uefi (when enable during install)

    - booting from usb w/ legacy (with uefi disbaled during install)

    - tried using an older stable version of unraid

    - reformatted usb from a mac and from a windows using fat32 format

    - currently running memtest86, everything looks good so far

    - virtualization in bios is enabled (i'm a mac guy, but if there are any other options i can try in the simple dell bios i'm all ears)

    All of these have landed me back at the exact same place, with a blank screen and blinking cursor. Ran through the forums, not seeing anything else to try pertaining to this issue, and i've just about exhausted my personal technical ability.

    Trying to get this up and running for my office, could really use a hand. Thanks in advance!

  2. hi guys. i'm trying to install unraid on a mid 2012 unraid mac pro. using refind bootloader just for ease of use.

    whenever i start the unraid boot, it hangs when loading bzroot. i've tried going through the steps outlined here

    http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=USB_Flash_Drive_Preparation

    to update the USB drive with the latest version of syslinux (6.03), but unsure of how to use the -ma option on a mac. just swapping the old syslinux file for the new one made no difference. everyone else seems to be using this w/ windows. All of this is in a quest to get unraid on the mac pro as mentioned earlier. so if i'm barking up the wrong tree here, i'm open for any advice. thanks!

    Post edit: i'm also getting the following error during boot failure:

    end kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

    tried different unraid versions, tried loading the usb manually with .zip instead of the creator, tried every usb port on the machine... nada

  3. May be a little off topic, but i'm not sure where else to post this... hoping since my original unmanic instance is running on unraid, that'll buy me a little grace...

    i've got an imac on the same LAN as my unraid. i keep the media library and cache directory in unraid. wanting to speed up library process time, i setup unmanic in docker on my mac, so i can use its processor too.

    got the install done, made it to the web ui, but can't figure out how to set the library and cache directories from unmanic on the mac to the unraid library and cache. was thinking maybe i could bash into the container and set /library path and /cache path, but don't know enough about docker to do this, especially for remote file paths.

    anytime i try putting in some variable of [unraid volume]/media/plex/tv shows in the web ui's library field, i get "WD=-1, Errno=No such file or directory (ENOENT)" in the log and no change in the UI. Can anyone help me out?

    Hi,

    I just installed this and pointed unmanic at my library, but nothing at all happens.  Is there, like, a start button that I'm missing?

    In the unmanic settings I have:

    /library/movies -> /mnt/user/plex/movies

    /library/tv -> /mnt/user/plex/series

    /tmp/unmanic -> /tmp/unmanic

    In unmanic settings:

    /library/movies

    /tmp/unmanic

    Run Scan on Start is selected

    EDIT: For some reason, about an hour later, it started running.

    Probably had the library scan set for 60 mins and that’s what kicked it off. Restarting the container also triggers a library scan after you select the “run scan on start” option in the UI settings.

    A start/pause button might be useful in the UI, but I supplement that with the start/pause feature for the docker in the unraid UI instead. (Useful if you have unmanic with hi cpu pins and you need to temporarily run some other heavy processes)

    i'm having the exact same issue. looking in the temp/cache folder, the new HEVC files appear to be being built, but no progress is showing at all in the web UI for the respective workers - stuck at 0%.

    Wanted to post an update to this - even though the worker progress is stuck at 0% in the UI, looks like the jobs are still completing and executing correctly, including showing finished files in the "completed tasks" window.

    I just saw this on the applist for unraid and installed. Its been running for 3 hours (3 workers) on my i7-8086k with full access to all cores/threads. All 3 workers are still showing 0%. I'm using default settings. CPU usage has been 100% for the full 3 hours

    I did just make sure that remove subtitles was checked, turned down to only 2 workers, and restarted the container. Its been running for 20 minutes still 0% completed in docker, still 100% CPU usage on all cores. I've also turned off all other dockers so only this one is running.

    (I did set it to a share using cache only, minimum available space is 100GB)

    Edit: I changed the codec from HEVC to 264 and let it run for a few minutes, it did complete some files but again showed no % updates at all. It would do one every 10-15 minutes this way, but will not do anything with the default HEVC.
