  1. Well that escalated quickly... I'm using 12a and it's working fine so far for me.
  2. This is the rest of the disks (I could only upload 4 files at a time). smartdisk4.txt smartdisk5.txt smartcache.txt
  3. This is the SMART reports for all of the drives. The drive in question is disk5. smartparity.txt smartdisk1.txt smartdisk2.txt smartdisk3.txt
  4. So I'm still kind of new to Unraid and need some help with an issue. I ran a Parity Check without corrections on 5.0 rc11 pro and need some help understanding what the error means. I have attached the syslog, and don't know if the error it found is serious or not. Note: A few days ago, a disk connected to a Highpoint Rocket 620 registered as disconnected midway through a mover process. I believe that the disconnection could have been occurred because I wrote more data to the array than the cache drive could hold. This has occurred before on my array when apparently attempting to move too much data at once (five or more transfers simultaneously). I removed the disk from the array and then started, stopped, and reassigned the disk. I then began a data-rebuild of the drive. which was completed later that day. The drive connected to that controller is a Seagate Barracuda 3TB. Thanks again for any advice or clarifications. syslog.txt
  5. So other than that you would definitely recommend getting the M1015? There are no known issues with that (flashed to IT mode) on version 5.0 (RCX)?
  6. Does anyone have any warnings as to why I should not purchase an IBM M1015 for additional hard drive support, or if applicable an alternate Controller to get more HDD support. I would like the price to be under or around $150 (USD), and allow for 8 additional drives.
  7. I'm currently out of SATA slots on my motherboard and am thinking about adding a RAID controller (HBA) to accommodate more data disks. I'm running version 5.0 RC-8a perfectly fine now, but wanted to know if there were any known issues anyone has had with this controller, or if there is a better recommendation out there. My first choice was this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816118112 Thanks again for help.
  8. Thanks dalben. btw does anyone know the maximum amount of memory that version 5 supports and what kind of increase i would see in parity calculations, parity check, rebuild, etc were i to upgrade my memory or processor?
  9. You can tweak the "tunable" parameters under 'disk settings'. I have made mine 10 times larger (i.e. add a '0' to each value) as a result parity check went 3 hours faster... Nice. Last checked on Sat Dec 1 23:09:21 2012 SGT (yesterday), finding 0 errors. * Duration: 5 hours, 47 minutes, 18 seconds. Average speed: 96.0 MB/sec Remarkable difference ! dalben. Any chance you could inform me of how full your data disks are? I see in your sig that you have about 8TB of data drives. I was wondering if those were nearly full to reach those speeds, or if they were about half empty on each drive or what. Thanks in advance.
  10. My roommate deleted the stored credentials right before you replied and the SMB share now works for his laptop (Mac). Thanks.
  11. No we have used 4.7 for a while and had no issues connecting just like you have, but after upgrading to 5.0, and purchasing keys, we are unable to connect.
  12. ^^aforementioned roommate. Any more ideas as to why this might occur?
  13. Using a laptop with Windows 7 64 bit I am unable to access the server (running RC-5). However, when my roommate attempts to use it with his Mac, he is unable to access it even on the Public setting for SMB. The error message reads: "You do not have permission to access the server 'Citadel'" (where Citadel is the name of the server). Also, when setting the share to private, or secure, all users are unable to access it even if proper passwords are used (including root password). Although we both know that he should and can however use AFP... we are just curious as to know what is going wrong with the SMB share.
  14. Have you tried connecting a monitor up to your server and seeing what messages are being displayed on it?
  15. Thanks so much. I was trying to add it to the end of the command line. Still giving the free version a go. Probably going to purchase the registered version in the near future.
  16. I have a Western Digital 3TB drive that I am attempting to use as a Parity drive with 2.2TB of usable space using Unraid v4.7. I have looked at other threads such as: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=11183.0 I am having difficulty using the "--yes-i-know-what-i-am-doing" flag after entering: hdparm -N p4294963168 /dev/sdX
