  1. Hi,

I just installed your "package" of the openvpn-client.

It seems to work as I could check my ip with "curl ipconfig.io" in the container. I've just two questions because I can't read it anywhere.

Does this container reconnect itself ?

And if connection is lost ... will it disconnect the internal (docker) connected containers, so they can't use an unprotected connection ?

  2. Hi,

I already tired that. But I'm not sure I did everything right because the description in the according threat isn't clear to me. At least I don't can identify in his kenrel-helper plugin if I'm using a self compiled kernel.

What I did  is to set the parameters, start the docker and a t the end copied the files from the Beta Output directory to "/boot".

At least I the card is still unusable after shutting down a VM and trying to start another.

  3. Hi there,

    I'm also in that boat.

I'm curious if there is a solution for the RX5500 ? I know that ICH777 provides a separate kernel-build procedure, but I don't see that it includes the RX5500.

I also tried the Reset procedure "Spaceinvader One" showed in his video, But this left the machine in a undefined state (maybe you have to shutdown ALL machines before putting the Power Button). But this wouldn't generally be not a good solution.

In additionI  tried "Thor2002ro" kernel on the beta35 but they didn'T fit (something with related to md version when I rmember correct).

Long story short .. does anybody know if there is an existing solution for the current "RC1" available out there ?

  4. Hi there,

maybe I didn't search the right way but I couldn't find the answer although I'm sure not to be the only one having such issues.

    Anyhow ....

    VMs

I'm using debian (and ROON ROCK what seems to be based on debian) for my VMs and can't get them up without changing the network to "e1000-82545em". Every time I do a modification on those machines I have to change the network settings again manually in the ".xml"

    Docker

I have some containers which have additional default settings I don't need (for example "transmission-openvpn"). But I need to remove them to get the container running properly. Here again ... everytime there's an update on those containers or i modify them the same old settings appear again.

This is a very annoying behaviour. Is there a way to solve that issue ?

BTW: Can someone explain why my system (Ryzen 3900x, Gigabyte Aorus elite, several disks and a dvb card) draws nearly 80W in idle while under Proxmox the same setup needs only a bit more than 60W.

  5. Hi,

to be honest I don't understand why so many drivers already included in the mainline kernel aren't included in UNRAID in the first place.

They are maintained by the kernel developers ... so no effort for this.

Is this such a huge security risk ? At least for DVB drivers I don't see how they would harm the system.

  6. Hi,

I'm a relatively new fan of UNRAID, but at some point it is ..... unflexible.

I moved all my dockers and services from my OMV build to UNRAID.

But one thing drives my nuts. I want to transcode in emby.  Therefore I bought a NVIDIA card (GTX 1050) as it supports complete support for transcoding AND encoding.

    I also use Tvheadend.

After the installation of the NVIDIA Plugin the DVB Plugin is gone.

Is there no way to use both of them in Unraid ?

At least would it be possible to passthrough the DVB-card in a VM ?

    THX

  7. Hi there,

coming back to this topic ...

I'm currently in the process to change my systems. When I go the way with two seperate graphic cards I still have questions.

    Maybe someone could answer this.

Current planing is to use a nvidia gtx1050 for unraid itself and to support HW transcoding in an Emby container. A second gpu (amd rx560) will be used for Retrogaming and multimedia VMs in passthrough mode.

In addition I want to use the system as a daily driver for my linux/debian system. Is there a way  (vnc or something faster) to use the unraid system in graphical mode (the nvidia card) and display a vm fullscreen with acceptable speed ?

I know the easiest way would be to use an additional gpu and pass that through, but as I don't have demanding tasks (only office and surfing) it should be enough power in that system.

  8. Mmmhmh,

in general I think this technology (NVIDIA-Grid or AMD MxGPU) exists. But I didn't find anything related to KVM.

From what I read it is possible to use it wit XEN and VMWARE.

    Look here.

But at least for now it's obviously still in it infancy.

    The usecase would be.

Host for homeserver for several Dockers (including transcoding for emby but not many streams) and VMs for my and my wifes general purpose/office PC, Libreelec, Retrogaming machine and so forth.

  9. Hi,

I read several things about this but didn't find an answer that really fit my needs.

Or at least I do not really understand NVIDIA-Grid or AMD GIM.

    Anyhow.

What I'm thinking about is to replace some of my computers with a beefy Unraid machine. The thing I'm unsure about is the graphics and I see two options.

    1. I don't know how to set this up, but is it possible to share a graphics card simultaneously between two running VMs ? Lets say use HDMI port 1 for a general Linux/Win box and port2 for Libreelec. And also put audio through them.

    2. Use several graphic cards and pass them through. Question here would be. What are least power demanding graphic cards (mostly idle).

I'm living in Germany so current does cost a lot more than in the states.

Can anyone point my to a wiki or something similar
