  1. Hey, I thought I had a relatively stable VM setup, however whilst starting a VM earlier today Unraid crashed (or at least the Docker and VM elements) and then when I went to reboot it just hung. Luckily someone was nearby to hard reset, however ideally would like to try and avoid this situation happening in the future, along with having an unclean shutdown.

I am guessing it is something to do with my GPU, but logs attached. Time of the 'issue' was around 16:24 on 07 Jan 22.

    Any guidance greatly received.

Hi all, I am currently backing up to an unassigned device. However, I'd like to mount & spin-up this device before the backup and then unmount & spin-down after. The idea being that the backup is safer from things like ransomware etc when unmounted and I'll save power with it spun down.

Is this possible with Duplicati? I don't even seem to be able to mount and unmount it manually before and after backups as Duplicati doesn't realise it has been mounted and reports the existing backup files as missing. Is this problem an Unraid, Docker or Duplicati issue?

    Thanks!

Did you ever get anywhere with this? I would like to achieve similar.

  3. Hi,

I am trying to mount a remote SMB share from a Raspberry Pi from within Unraid. However, it won't mount.

I can mount and browse the SMB share from my Mac so I do not believe the SMB share settings on the Raspberry Pi are the issue.

When using the remote SMB share wizard, it finds the server, the username and password seem to work, I do not believe I am on a domain so leave blank, however when clicking load shares it does not find the SMB shared folder.

    Any ideas?

OK guys, its been a while since i touched this script, mainly because it just works :-), small enhancement to the script, i have now added in the ability to 'lock' and 'unlock' chattr, in reality this simply changes permissions and renames the chattr binary to make it just that bit harder for any potential ransomware script to try and execute chattr to unlock media. It's switched on by default and will auto unlock on execution of the script and lock at the end, if you don't want this new functionality then you can switch this off by specifying the flag --secure-chattr 'no'.

link to the script in first post of this thread.

Thanks. Seems to have worked great.

yes simple enough, the golden rule is ONLY change the host side though, never change the container port as its hard set, but the host port can be whatever you want, as long as its not already in use.

Thanks. I think I may also have ballsed that up.

The container port is greyed out. It reads 8119  when the value it should be is 8118. I guess it a case of recreating the entry again then removing this one?

  6. So I fixed my Sab problem. Something got corrupted in the upgrade which meant the downloader was continually crashing. Deleted the image, removed the container etc and re downloaded and without changing any settings it seems to be working as intended.

On a separate note, it’s is possible to change the proxy port on the VPN container from  8118 to say 8119? Is it as simple and just changing the mapping when editing the container?

  7. Hi, about when the new version came out SABnzbd seems to have stopped working. Now its probably something obvious, but nothing seems wrong when I look though the config and the logs.

Sonarr / Radarr etc all work fine as does testing connections to providers from within SAB. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I actually took a chance (not understanding the vast majority of this!) and generated a new VPN config via the PIA website and replaced my old Sweden one and it's now working!

The thing I couldn't get my head around was the UI itself not loading - I mean I could understand if I'd tried to download a torrent and it didn't work but I assumed my local access to the UI wouldn't be affected by the VPN configuration!?!? (but again, I don't understand most of these settings anyway!)

If VPN_ENABLED is set to yes but there is no valid VPN connection/configuration then the web GUI will not open.

    Morning all,

I've not used Deluge for quite a wile but I've come to it this morning and I can't get the web UI to even load!?!?

I've had this issue before but it has usually just sorted itself out after a minute or so and the UI loads but today I've been trying for 20 minutes or so and nothing!

I've read some of the last couple of pages, specifically in relation to PIA having changed some settings (Sweden rings a bell for me but it's so long ago that I get it set up I can't remember how to check!) - but could this change be affecting whether I can get into the UI??

Temporarily set VPN_ENABLED to no and see if that fixes your access issue.

Does it work if you detach the device in unraid and reattach to the virtual machine?

Without logs it's difficult to say, but it could be related to qemu when resets speed of usb or mac os vm not well configured, are you injecting power properties for usb in the vm? Is it usb 1.1?

It happened to me too with a usb 1.1 microsoft set (mouse+keyboard), it seems when usb resetted its speed from the system logs, the pointer froze, detaching and reattaching the device in unraid unlocked it (connecting to unraid from a mobile phone for example), now with qemu 5.0 and injected usb properties in the vm the issue happens very rarely (I don't remember last time it happened).

I'm also reading several reviews on amazon about users saying that the set has some problems for the wireless connection, this can also be another thing to take into account.

Thanks for your help. I ended up passing through an entire USB controller rather than just the one device. Had to sort a few IMOUU issues first so took a few hours. Will leave the VM running to see how stable it is.

  13. So I finally got around to purchasing an RX 580 so I can run OS X more natively then via splashtop. I have passed through the GPU and all seems to be working well, apart from my mouse and keyboard. These are passed through in Unraid, and work for say 10 seconds before stopping. Splashtop from another device still works so its not the system locking up.

They are a generic wireless set available from Amazon so not sure if I need to do be doing something more specific.

Any idea how to get these working properly?

Do you know if there is a way to use any other port than 8080?  I current have unifi controller that needs 8080 for it to communicate with the managed switch.  I have a non-dockered sabnzbd running on 8800 and would like to move all that over to SabNZBDVPN.

    Thoughts?

If I’m understanding the question correctly you can just map to any unused ports when setting up the container.

Don’t forget to check your docker allocations to make sure your aren’t using the port for something else.

yep it was a bug in the find syntax, i have now tested and fixed it, please pull down the latest script, see OP for details, FYI the fixed version is 1.0.1.

Looks like that has done the job. Now to double check I don’t need any further file extensions excluded and will run on my media folder. Thanks!

hmm that should work, i will do some further testing, as a possible workaround you could remove the exclude and instead use the include to only lock file types you want to have locked e.g. for ebooks *.epub, *.mobi etc.

Any further thoughts? I can't really do as suggest as the list to include would be quite long and may miss some :(

Here is the debug text. I can see no reason why it is not working as intended.

All works if you pay attention to:

1- SMBIOS data (serial number, model, ROM, UUID, etc.)

2- IORegistry tree, especially related to network (en0 builtin)

3- Type of network card (vmxnet3 will not login in icloud web, e1000 is ok)

Thanks. Number 3 did the trick.
