ChutneyBadger
A few years ago I decided I wanted a NAS with its primary use being a Media Server (Plex etc) and I settled on putting together a PC (Intel based) and then using Xpenology as the OS. I'm starting to get a little bit bored/frustrated with it and the potential for the next update from Synology bricking the system as well as the difficulty in accessing the NAS from outside my network as it's not running on an official Synology NAS. It's about as simple a NAS as it gets, i only use one HDD because the data on it really isn't important enough for me to spend the money on a second drive for redundancy. As well as running Plex Media Server I also run Sabnzdb, Sonarr and Couchpotato so i'd like to be able to continue using them on Unraid if possible. This might be a dumb question but does Unraid have to at least 2 drives or can I use it on my super simple one drive setup? Thanks Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You just need one data device assigned. Quote Link to comment

So I should be fine then with my single WD Red drive attached to this motherboard? I have a spare 256gb SSD that I can use as a cache drive too. Quote Link to comment
