Fantos
Hello,I’m completely new to server stuff, unraid and everything about it but I like a good challenge. Ive been reading about zfs and what all the advantage are seems pretty cool but all the the technical jargon associated with it, is driving me nuts. My goal To do a home server for m plex, backup for my macbook, steam link/moonlight (VM) for some light livingroom gaming, couple game/Ts3 server for my kids, openvpn/WireGuard to tunel in my home net and ad block for the network. But the point is to do everything on one zfs pool including VMs, docker Containers, Backups and all the Movies/Tv shows. With accounts for plex, pc backup and vm data access. So to have restrictions for read/write access of the Family. I’ve created a zpool (raidz1)Can’t install vms, docker I can’t find a decent guid online, that shows a proper step by step. Only some where they have existing shares, pools or zfs is just a side solution for one specific task. In other words a complete system around it that already works Does anyone have any ideas how to do that? Some tips and stuff to look out for? Is it really efficient to use zfs in my case? Or even just unnecessary. ChatNoir
Hello, ZFS is not part of the basic Unraid but is a user supported plugin. You should look for support on the dedicated plugin thread : Quote Link to comment
