SubbyDew
Hi peeps, I have been having permissions issues when trying to access files on the server from my windows machine, I have read many threads and tried fixes but am not having the best of luck. My main issue is that I cannot access files/folders that have permissions set that 'public' has no read/write/execute permissions. This is the permissions that deluge sets for the file and folders: I have a user in unraid that has read/write for all shares that I have set in the windows credentials manager, I thought this would fix the issue as I thought that would give me full access to all the shares. But I get the "You do not have permission to access....." error I can access these folder and files from my android phone when logging in with another user that also has read/write to all shares. I tested this by downloading a video file and can get access to it no problem from my phone. So it seems like SMB weirdness, but I might also be doing something wrong...?? I tried to get a temp fix when it came to my media files with Sonarr by getting Sonarr to change the permissions on import to 776/666 The files would change correctly to rw-rw-rw but the folder would not get set correctly and stayed with drwxrwx--- just as the folders from deluge have, and it would also change each higher lever folder up to the root TV shows filer to the same drwxrwx--- which would again stop me getting into the TV Shows folder at all with the SMB issue. It gets frustrating trying to access files and having to use the docker safe new permission tool to set all permissions to 777 which I would prefer not to do for file security reasons as well. And then while access some files, sonarr grabs something and blocks my access again by changing the root folder permission again. I was hoping that somebody would be able to help me out with this. I would appreciate any input you have. Edited February 20, 2021 by SubbyDew Quote Link to comment
Squid
Your version of sonarr looks completely different than mine: And in the linuxserver template, I've got zero problems. Quote Link to comment
SubbyDew
I am running V3 of Sonarr, and my dockers are the binhex variants Yeah, I don't understand why it's setting the folder permissions wrong, but the SMB issue still confuses me as I should have access to it regardless. And this is the binhex:sonarr template Quote Link to comment
Squid
Maybe then because it's beta software? Best to ask in the support thread Quote Link to comment
SubbyDew
I was going to ask there as well, I was previously using the stable V2 version but was still having the same issue. Do you have any idea why SMB in general is not giving me access even when I'm logged in as a user defined in unraid? Quote Link to comment
