Hi all,

I'm brand new to the home server world and have just completed the hardware build of what was going to be a great night of adventure and discovery!..allas, I can't get unraid to work for me :(

The pc/server is a brand new build with the following specs:

  • Ryzen 5 3600 CPU
  • ASRock B550 PG Velocita AM4 ATX Motherboard
  • 2 x WD Red 4TB HDD
  • An old Gigabyte 960 GPU
  • 2x 8GB RAM 2666Mhz

The computer boots to BIOS fine and I've flashed a BIOS update for the 3600 CPU.

I've not preinstalled any other OS on the HDD's.

I'm connected to the internet via the same etheret cable I use on my main pc, so I know the internet connection in is good.

I've download the Unraid USB creator tool from https://unraid.net/download and have installed it on an 8Gb Sandisk UBB which has been formated to FAT32.

I boot from the USB and it loads the blue OS option screen for unraid and it selects Unraid OS Headless after a few seconds.

I get all the way down to it saying:

unRAID Server OS version: 6.8.3

  IPv4 address: 169.254.xxx.xxx

  IPv6 address: not set

When I try enter the 169.254 address into a browser of another computer it wont connect.

I don't know if its an issue, but my normal ip address to my asus modem/ router is 192.168.xxx.xxx

Please, if anyone could help, I'd be very appreciative!
