ALMattSr
I am working to build an unraid server for my home. I purchased a GIGABYTE C246-WU4 (Intel/C246 Express Chipset/ATX/DDR4/Dual Intel Server GbE LAN/10xSATA3/2xM.2) Server Motherboard and currently have two Toshiba MG06ACA10TE hard dives connected to the machine. When the drives are connected the GSATA ports on the motherboard they show up just fine in unraid. If I move them to the standard SATA ports they do not show up. The BIOS shows the hard drives regardless of how the drives are connected to the motherboard. Any ideas why unraid will not find the drives when they are connected to standard SATA ports? ALMattSr
Here you go... had it working and then wanted to update bios before building Unraid for the first time... now not working again. matthews-diagnostics-20210301-1103.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
And you say they show up in the BIOS? It's strange, according to the log there's no drives connected except the optical drive: Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata7: SATA link down (SStatus 4 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata3: SATA link down (SStatus 4 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata2: SATA link down (SStatus 4 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata1: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata6: SATA link down (SStatus 4 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata4: SATA link down (SStatus 4 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata9: SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata8: SATA link down (SStatus 4 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata5: SATA link down (SStatus 4 SControl 300) Mar 1 03:02:11 Matthews kernel: ata10: SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl 300) Quote Link to comment
ALMattSr
Yes they show up in BIOS, again if I move them to the motherboard gsata ports they show up, but that only allows me to connect 2 drives.... Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
That is the Asmedia controller, it's separate from the Intel ports, but the Intel ports are working since it's detecting the optical drive. Quote Link to comment
