March 1, 201115 yr i have a dir on my cache drive called _TimeMachine for backups.....i installed the addon to change the mover script to excluse the _ headed dir....but it still makes it a share on the array....is there a way around this? i want it on the cache drive only and not a share in the protected array
March 3, 201115 yr Call it .Timemachine. Files starting with '.' will not show up in the finder and I'm not sure how TM will like it. There is an addon in unmenu the allows you to specify any starting character.
March 3, 201115 yr As an alternative, is it possible to partition the cache drive so that one partition is cache and the other is available for the share which you then share out using the SNAP add-on (for sharing drives not part of the array)? I might like to do this and wondered it it would work.
March 3, 201115 yr Yes you can partition. Another alternative is to let the mover move the backups into the array and the disable the share in on the shares page.
