theonewithin
Had a read through the manuals etc but didn't find anything about this. I have a HBA in my server and am wanting to pass it through to a VM. However it doesn't show up in the pci devices. Is this going to just be bad luck for me that the HBA doesn't support doing this? Basically running a TrueNAS server and wanting to use Unraid instead but don't want to lose all my data so VM TrueNAS and then create other VM's to do everything else i want. Quote Link to comment
theonewithin
Nevermind. Figured it out... Not the simplest of things. Quote Link to comment
tjb_altf4
What version of unraid are you on? It's dead simple on 6.9 onwards. Quote Link to comment
theonewithin
Ok now I am having an issue of the VM "pausing"... Best i can tell from googling this is caused by the disk being full. So expanded the disk in the unraid gui and followed through with that on the vm itself. Still pauses... What the hell is the go with this??? Quote Link to comment

theonewithin
FFS... Stupid ubuntu server... Why are you loading a gui and it's set to sleep automatically? Quote Link to comment
theonewithin
Well. That didn't help. I'm just going to start from scratch I guess... Quote Link to comment
fearlessknight
Did you ever figure this out? I'm also having difficulty. I can select my HBA from the list of PCI devices in my VM. However, when it starts, the VM is rendered inoperable. When its removed, the VM starts up just fine. Thought I may need to flash the HBA to IT mode. Its an LSI MegaRAID 9280-e. Any suggestions would help! Quote Link to comment
