shrekfx
I'm a full fledge NOOB at this stuff. I have an external hard drive hooked up and currently moving the contents over and was hoping to use the drive in my array when done. However, I noticed that in the dashboard it gives me a yellow thumbs down (error) under SMART. I attempted to read the log for it and from what the attributes say, it's o.k. and not near fail. I go down and see where it shows the errors and have no idea what these are. Does that mean this drive is starting to fail or just something goofy happening? itimpi
The drive currently has a non-zero value for Pending Sectors which is not a good sign. However sometimes these can be false and get cleared when the sector is next written. Probably worth running an extended SMART test on the drive. Quote Link to comment
