R710 raid controller

Featured Replies

I recently bought an r710 that doesn't have a raid controller. (The seller tells me it didn't come with one) I was doing some reading on which raid controller to buy that supports JBOD. Unfortunately it looks like the PERC raid controllers don't expose JBOD to the host system. I was wondering if there was some sort of controller that could support high capacity drives that also supports JBOD and works with the r710 out there.

It should work with any of the recommended LSI HBAs, as long as used in a standard PCIe slot.

Recommended controllers for Unraid are listed here. Many thanks to JorgeB for this list. :)

I'm unfamiliar with server hardware in general but most of the controllers from that list have sata ports on the card itself. I need one that'll be compatible with my sas backplane for my r710. Should any sas compatible raid controller work?
