March 30, 201115 yr Hi! I use the mentioned mainboard in my unRAID-Server. Most of the time I connect from my MacMini to the server via SMB. When the transfer to the server is running everything is okay. Deleting files or folders drives me mad. I got 'file in use' messages or the finder is hanging. Besides the deletion of files is quite slow. Anyway: I wonder if there are special settings in the BIOS of the board which could cause this behavior. Bye.

Nope, there is nothing that will really help this. It is not a motherboard BIOS setting or anything else of that sort. Try restarting your Mac and see if it clears the issue.
March 30, 201115 yr Author Hi! Yes I tried. I also tried connecting via a XP notebook. That worked a lot better. I'm confused. Some reported that they don't have any problems connecting from their Mac to the server. What is that? Maybe I should try a complete new installation of MacOS. Bye.
April 1, 201115 yr I'm using NFS from a Macmini and I very occasionally get the "file in use" message when deleting and delete it via telnet.
April 1, 201115 yr Author Hi! Here the direct response from Path finder: The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -47.) File is busy. Bye.
April 1, 201115 yr Hi! Here the direct response from Path finder: The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -47.) File is busy. Bye. Try rebooting and then not using Path Finder to delete the file. Use normal old finder and see what happens.
April 1, 201115 yr Author Hi! It is the same error. Something like "file is in use". When I use my XP notebook I can delete the file without any problems. The deletion of the file takes around 5 seconds (15 GB). I guess that this is normal due to a change of the parity drive...? Bye.
April 1, 201115 yr No, it is not normal. My suggestion is to restart all machines giving the error. I would first reboot the server, and then the mac.
April 1, 201115 yr Author Hi! Both machines have been rebooted a couple of times. I have this issues over a few month now. I even restarted my switch. I think that this has something to do with the Mac and its network "abilities". I'm just curious. When you delete a 20 GB file on you server via SMB. How long does it take to disappear for the file visible from the directory? Bye.
April 1, 201115 yr A reboot should clear the issue... if not I am kind of at a lose as to why it is "hung open" As for the time related question I am not really sure. I rarely delete files from my server, and hardly ever ones in the 20GB range.
