swamiforlife
I have a supermicro server with hot swap bays. I removed a data disk while the array was running by mistake. I plugged it back in right a away. But now it says "Device is disabled, Contents Emulated" Do i have to rebuild that disk? Disk is in fine health. It was removed for only like 10 seconds. Any way to not do a rebuild? Edited October 24, 2021 by swamiforlife Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You have to rebuild the disk or do a new config and correct parity, either way it will take about the same time, 2nd option is usually best if the emulated disk is not mounting or required a filesystem check that created some lost+found content. swamiforlife
Ok i will go with option 1 (rebuild the disk) Should i just select a replacement disk and start the array? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You can also rebuild on top of the old disk, as long as the emulated disk is mounting and contents look correct. Quote Link to comment
