Failed to load ldlinux.c32 on a new server build

I've had unraid for years but building a new server from the leftovers of my desktop PC since I have a new one.

I'm getting this error now when booting

SYSLINUX 6.03 CHS 2014-10-06 Copyright (C) 1994-2014 H. Peter Anvin et al

Failed to load ldlinux.c32
Boot failed: please change disks and press a key to continue

Things I've tried already, that didn't work

  • Disconnected all the SATA cables. Only thing plugged in is the usb key to boot
  • Tried 2 different usb keys - both of them work on another computer. One of them is identical to my older working Unraid Server.
  • Disabled USB3
  • Disabled USB options like keyboard etc
  • Tried different USB Ports.
  • I get a different error when i take the usb out, just to ensure that it is the correct usb key that is being detected.
  • USB key is definitely FAT32, called UNRAID and I ran the make_bootable as admin in windows.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5

Anyone got any ideas what I can try?
