Lost visibility on server (with static IP) after switching the router due to IP range switch

Featured Replies

Hello, so long story short my server was set on a static IP on the 192.168.xx.xx range
The new IPS router decided to switch the network to 10.xx.xx.xx
I don't really have a screen connected to the server ATM, is there an easy way to either see the server with the 192.168 range even if the router is set up for 10?
Failing that I'll mess around to try connecting a screen and whatnot to disable that option, I usually use IPMI but can't reach it ATM :l
Thank you for any help provided

The easiest thing would be to edit the config/network.cfg file on the Unraid flash drive to change the static IP to one in the new range

I completly forgot that in my panic
will not solve the IPMI one but let's hope I don't need it in the near future

THANK YOU!

You can temporarily set a static IP in the old range on a client pc so you can log in to IPMI and update it to DHCP temporarily, then reboot things and find your new IP and set things as you like.

For the future, it is more convenient to assign static IP's using the DHCP reserve address function in the firewall / router, that way a new DHCP server will still hand out valid addresses to your equipment.
