WireGuard only able to access the UnRaid Server and not LAN/Internet

Featured Replies

hello, i have set up a wireguard VPN on unraid 6.9.2 using Dynamix WireGuard plugin (installed via Community Applications plugin)

when i connect to the VPN i am only able to access my UnRaid server but not the internet or LAN, i have forwarded the UDP port and the peer access type is set to Remote tunneled access

i have attached my wireguard config screen

what could be wrong and how could i fix it?

I am in the exact same boat.  The difference is that mine was working properly originally.  Without any changes made to unraid server, container, or pfsense config, the ability to reach the internet on my peer with "remote tunneled access" stopped.  Also, I am unable to reach other Containers over VPN, when I am able over the lan.

Seems like I'm raising a topic from the dead, but got the same issue here on 6.9.2.

'Remote tunneled access' only grants me access to the unraid server, but not other LAN ips or WAN.

Hi guys ! Did you find a fix ? I have the exact same issue and really strugling right now

Do you have a note telling you to configure a static route in your router? Did you do that?

If Nat is set to No, then without the static route on your router your WireGuard clients can't reach anything on the local LAN, including the DNS server.

You may be able to get access to the Internet (but not the LAN) if you set the Peer DNS Server to a public DNS server like 8.8.8.8

Just as an FYI, this image gave me the answer:

I don't recall ever moving my docker "Host access to custom networks" setting, but it's enabled. I have a feeling it was auto-enabled at some point by an update or something else.

And per that table, it won't work with NAT = true.

Since I didn't want to stop all my docker containers, I went with the last option, and added my static routes with NAT= false and my problems were solved.
