[SOLVED]Errors during Parity - Dead Drive & Parity invalid (Norco4224)

Well I found the drive that was acting up. I removed it and I backed it up. Now I'm not getting that System 'Error' populating the system log. That's the good news. The bad news? Well something is still going horribly wrong. I added a new pre-cleared 2TB drive and the system log is just riddled with a ton of errors. I will have to post it, but I no longer believe that it's a bad backplane, ugh :(

I'm not even sure what it wrong as I replaced the AOC-SAS card with a confirmed working card that has the .15 firmware flashed on it. I'm pretty much lost as to troubleshooting. I'm about to order new some new cables to see if it's the cables that are bad, though I don't know if that's really the problem. Sheesh...

Read your syslog from the top and you can trace ata3 to a disk#.

I just wanted to update this thread.

After removing all drives to older hardware, rebuilding parity, confirming all drives were solid I began to slowly migrate back to the Norco case. I had purchased all new cables and it turns out that 2x of the backplanes were the problems!!!!

Sheesh... what a PITA! But, Norco is sending me replacements now and I should be back up and running soon!

Thank you for all the input.

I'm glad you got to the root of the issue, but what a PITA.
