March 18, 20224 yr Hi Unraiders Is it possible in latest UNRAID to dedicate vgpus to vms and dockers using a card like Nvidia A40? https://www.servethehome.com/nvidia-a40-48gb-gpu-mini-review/ I want to have 2 vGPUs for video out and 1+ vGPU for docker transcoding etc. Does UNRAID goup each vgpu in own IOMMU? Please advise as 5K is ALOT to spend for a GPU. Thanks
April 11, 20224 yr Wouldn't work, even if there was support in Unraid for splitting the gpu up, this config only ever supports one discrete video output. Other vGPU "outputs" would need to be streamed with something like parsec, or using something more advanced like looking glass. Craft Computing has some tutorials on doing this on Proxmox (also KVM based like Unraid), and there is even info on doing this with GTX/RTX cards....
July 13, 20223 yr Solution A bit late to the party, but as far as I know only vGPU stuff reported working on unraid is intel iGPU up to 10th gen. The later intel iGPUs moved tovards SR-IOV but support in drivers has never been implemented. (should be working in Q4 2023 https://github.com/intel/linux-intel-lts/issues/33) There is a way to make vGPUs work with nVidia GTX 1000 and RTX 2000 series, craft computing made videos, there is a discord group https://discord.gg/cWx6VBXqbD. Those vGPUs might be used together with gamestream and moonlight client for best RDP experience.
