JoeCotellese
Hi all, I woke up this morning and connected to the Unraid Dashboard and noticed that the license file was "missing." I tried to re add it and got an error. Then, I also noticed issues connecting to shares. I looked in the logs and am seeing this: Apr 1 04:36:23 Tower kernel: FAT-fs (sda1): FAT read failed (blocknr 308) Apr 1 04:36:23 Tower kernel: FAT-fs (sda1): FAT read failed (blocknr 308) Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/Domains.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/Downloads.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/Photos.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/appdata.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/backups.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/domains.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/home.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/isos.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/media.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/personalcloud.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: error: put_config_idx, 598: No such file or directory (2): fopen: /boot/config/shares/system.cfg Apr 1 04:36:24 Tower emhttpd: Starting services... Could my flash drive gone bad? How worried should I be here? tower-syslog-20220402-1057.zip Edited April 2, 2022 by JoeCotellese Quote Link to comment
itimpi
The diagnostics show continual failures to read from the flash drive. This means it either dropped offline for some reason or is indeed starting to fail. sometime rewriting its contents can fix such an issue if you are lucky. Do you have any up-to-date backups of the flash drive (the contents of the config folder being the important part). Quote Link to comment
JoeCotellese
I had a backup somewhere but not sure where it is anymore. I guess at this point, reboot and see what happens? Quote Link to comment
MAM59
1 hour ago, JoeCotellese said: guess at this point, reboot and see what happens? good luck! usually you only come to the RE part of the BOOT anymore 😞 See, if you can copy the /boot/config folder somewhere before you try to reboot. The more file you can get, the easier to restore the system it will be later on. AND: pick a piece of paper and a pencil and write down the Disk Assignments (Serial Numbers, which one is the parity drive and so on...) In case you get a serious error and have to rebuild everything from scratch If you are using / will be using a 32Gb Stick for UNRAID, check the partition sizes the flash too has created (with some stick it will only produce a 16G partition but the other partition table will show 32G, this will lead to the same data corrpution again that you are facing now. If this happen, dont use that tool, prepare and unpack the stick manually) Quote Link to comment
JoeCotellese
I was able to pop the USB stick in my mac, copy the config folder and reflash the drive. Things *seem* to be fine now. It's running a parity check. I'll probably pickup a second flash drive today and flash onto that. Quote Link to comment
