Power Monitoring Smart Sockets

Featured Replies

Hi,

Not exactly an unraid question but I saw @SpaceInvaderOne uses a tasmota flashed sonoff power monitoring plug to see how much his unraid server is consuming and he was able to view the consumption via a browser.

My question is does anyone on here do the same with an off the shelf power usage plug?

almost all Shelly Devices (with a "P" in their names) can power monitor, summ up, build statistics and so on.

Most likely you want to have a "Shelly-Plug-S". A single plug, ready to go I dont know if they are also available with different wall layouts.

This is my server stats from yesterday (btw, you only get the long term stats from the (free) shelly cloud. The devices also work without cloud, but then you only see the "current" reading and have to sum up for yourself)

UPDATE: I'm afraid those "Shelly Plug-S" thingies are only available with german wall connector. But you can always use a "Shelly 1PM+" for instance and either put it inside the wall behind your wallet, or build a nice case with a 3d printer (they also offer a housing with a button, but beware, it is VERY tight and you need some patience to get it in and close the box again). You can then cut the wire of a normal cable or socket strip you have and put it in the middle. You can then control and monitor the devices at the end of that cable. Really simple to built.
