Linkd
I've had Unraid running for many years now with using a single cache pool of two SSDs of the same size. I've always noticed that even though Unraid reports the cache pool as healthy, and the second drive as being part of the pool. Only the 1st drive ever appears to receive reads/writes, and in general, only that one drive appears to be in-use? Is this expected, or have I been running it improperly this whole time? Thank you for any help! Quote Link to comment

flow
That’s fine. Both disks are used as cache devices. click on the cache link and check the balance status. Quote Link to comment
Linkd
Attaching diagnostics to this message. Clicking into both drives, I only see the "Balance Status" section within the 1st drive (the one that's receiving reads/writes). However, inspecting the diagnostics config, you can see a cache-pool and in that file it list both drives, so I'm very confused. Thanks again for any help. unraid-diagnostics-20220526-1040.zip Quote Link to comment

Solution JorgeB Posted May 26, 2022 Solution Share Posted May 26, 2022 Data Metadata System Id Path single single single Unallocated -- --------- --------- --------- -------- ----------- 1 /dev/sdg1 397.00GiB 2.00GiB 32.00MiB 48.10GiB -- --------- --------- --------- -------- ----------- Total 397.00GiB 2.00GiB 32.00MiB 48.10GiB Used 364.44GiB 314.58MiB 80.00KiB They confirm only cache1 is being used, you can usually fix it doing this: -stop the array -unassign cache2 -start array -stop array -re-assign cache2 -start array You should now see activity for cache2, in case of doubt post new diags. 1 Quote Link to comment
