12600k - IGPU not supported?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm new to Unraid and I'm trying to get it to recognise my CPU's onboard graphics. I get this message on the boot screen:

"i915 0000:00:02.0: your graphics device 4680 is not properly supported by the driver in this module parameter or CONFIG_DRM_I915_FORCE_PROBE=4680 configuration option, or (recommended) check for kernel updates"

I've spent a few hours looking for a solution and I'm starting to wonder if Unraid even supports onboard graphics for the 12600k yet, I've only seen drivers on Intel's website for Windows, not Linux.

Just to let you know a few things:

1. I have set CPU in BIOS to primary graphics (not auto)

2. There is nothing in the modprobe.d file

3. A /dev/dri file dose not exist

4. I have installed Intel Top plugin

I don't know if that's helpful but its what I came across when googling.

Hello, I was receiving the same message above when unraid boots...

12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12600

1. I have set CPU in BIOS to primary graphics (not auto)

- added i915.force_probe=4680 to Global Configuration in Flash memory settings

- ran echo "blacklist i915" > /boot/config/modprobe.d/i915.conf

I can now use UNraid GUI mode

Which version of unraid are you using as you shiuld not need for 6.12.x

Hi ,

I am using the latest 7 beta 2, if it's too "cutting edge" I suppose I can downgrade....just playing around on a new install that I am doing.

with an I5 14500.

7.2 is fine do you get anything in the logs for i915?

              use xe.force_probe='4680' and i915.force_probe='!4680'
[   53.699493] i915 0000:06:11.0: [drm] *ERROR* Device is non-operational; MMIO access returns 0xFFFFFFFF!
[   53.699946] i915 0000:06:11.0: Device initialization failed (-5)
[   53.699950] i915: probe of 0000:06:11.0 failed with error -5

I forgot to mentioned that this is a VM under proxmox.

and I am passing the pci device.

I was just able get windows 11 VM to successfully pick up the UHD 770 driver!

Ok so at least I know the Proxmox config is good!

If you load intel gpu top plugin it should do the force probe for you.

 intel_gpu_top
No device filter specified and no discrete/integrated i915 devices found

Not sure what to do anymore...
