sabarirjpm
Hi All Have an unRAID server running on 6.5.2. Haven't been using it for sometime because of house construction and shifting. The server had motherboard issues and rectified the same just today. The configuration is Intel Quad CPU Q6600 at 2.40 GHz with 2 GB of RAM. There are 10 2TB drives with one acting as parity and no cache. I have no intentions of running VM, Docker, Plex etc., When I tried to do an update check on the webui, I noticed that the minimum required for the latest is 4GB RAM. With my need to just use it as a storage, do I still need to upgrade the memory to 4GB for me to get to the latest? Should I just proceed without upgrading. Can someone advice Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
2GB *should* be OK just for basic NAS, it won't hurt to try, and if it's not stable add more RAM. Quote Link to comment
itimpi
In theory you should be able to run the basic NAS functionality in 2GB but some functions might not work well. An example would be that you would have to do any upgrade manually as trying to upgrade via the GUI will fail with only 2GB of RAM. Quote Link to comment
