Assuming at this point I should do a normal drive replacement? stop the array put in a new drive for disk10 turn it back on

Typically there will be files/folders without their original names, files without their folders. Can be a lot of trouble to sort through. Linux 'file' command may be able to tell you what kind of data is in a file so you can try to open it with the appropriate application. Do you have backups of anything important and irreplaceable? should I be rebuilding disk10 next or should I be copying the lost and found data somewhere?
September 3, 20223 yr Community Expert You don't really need a new disk10 since there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with that one, and original disk10 doesn't really have anything on it anyway since you cleared it. So might as well overwrite it by rebuilding to the same disk. Did you take a look at the contents of lost+found? You might also take a look at the contents of emulated disk10. If you think you want to backup something from emulated disk10 before rebuilding, you should copy it somewhere off the array. That way only the emulated disk will be read, and no disks will be written. When you are ready, to rebuild to the same disk Stop the array Assign disk10 Start the array to begin rebuild If there seem to be problems during rebuild, post new diagnostics.
September 5, 20223 yr Thought I'd have a bit of a read of this thread in case I might learn something. I have to say that I am super impressed with the support given!! As I was reading through, I felt really bad for the OP, but thanks to some fantastic help it looks like he'll be able to salvage some of his data. One of the big reasons I personally started the unRAID journey was the help and support you find here!
September 7, 20223 yr Community Expert Just thought I would check back in on this. Did rebuild of disk10 go OK? And I remembered we had left out parity2. You can add it to the parity2 slot and it will build parity2.
