jdhenshall
I am new to Unraid and I'm trying to setup shares on the server. I have created them, made them Public (for now, just trying to establish connectivity). I cannot see them on any of my network devices, I've tried on Windows 10, my Android phone, my Ubuntu machine, and my old Mac Mini. None can see the server, when I type the hostname (HNAS) and/or IP address nothing happens, or it will say inaccessible. i have OpenMediaVault on a VM that is working just fine and that all my devices can see. I'm coming from a QNAP NAS that also worked fine out of the box. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried stopping and starting the array, rebooting the entire machine (running on Dell R510). I've ensure SMB is enabled in settings. I've exhausted most of the troubleshooting steps in the Pinned 'Windows 10 Issues' thread, and nothing has worked - but also note other OSes cannot see it either. I can ping the machine and they have network connection. I can access the WebUI just fine. hnas-diagnostics-20220917-1056.zip Quote Link to comment
itimpi
Have you set any of the shares to be visible on the network (I.e. the Export option) under the share settings. I believe by default they are not on current Unraid releases. Quote Link to comment
jdhenshall
Its set to 'No' (which the info thing says 'Yes' is hidden). I did switch to Yes, just to check, and it didn't change anything. Even when I type the Path to the share, nothing happens. Quote Link to comment

Frank1940
Settings >>> Network Services >>> SMB Make sure this is turned on: EDIT: Also download the PDF file from the first post in this thread: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/110580-security-is-not-a-dirty-word-unraid-windows-10-smb-setup/ Edited September 17, 2022 by Frank1940 Quote Link to comment

I saw that the "Yes Hidden" tooltip said it should would be hidden - so in my monkey logic I assumed No would mean visible. I should have gotten more sleep. thanks for the guidance!
