September 29, 20223 yr Community Expert You should read the help built into the GUI for the Use Cache setting. That will point out that it is the Prefer setting that gives the behaviour you want.

Use cache pool (for new files/directories): Yes = Mover transfers files from cache to array But it did still move some files back from Array to Cache. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This morning did i stop all data going into unraid and did start the mover. IT did move the files from cache to array When it was done the array was at 1 tb used afther thath i did start all the data input again but when i did check the main again. The array was like 600 gb Used and the cache was back to 700 Gb used so as i see it did the array move like 400 gb back to the cache
September 29, 20223 yr Community Expert You are likely to get better informed feedback if you attach your system’s diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread as that will let us see how all your shares are set up and where they files for them are currently located.

It is worth noting that you may also need to temporarily disable the Docker and VM services under Settings to get files related to these services moved to the cache as mover will not move any files that are currently open. i did start at Prefer this morning. i did misunderstand it and dident read the help note When i did notic it need to be yes insted of prefer i did only stop all my docker not disable it i will try to disable docker now let it move all files and then test again

September 29, 20223 yr Community Expert System and domains are on cache, and that is fine, data is mostly on disk1, but like mentioned any new data written to that share goes initially to cache, that is expected behavior.

September 29, 20223 yr Community Expert Docker and VMs folders are on the cache pool, only appdata is on the NVMe pool.
October 1, 20223 yr Author It's still a problem did try to remake it all.. i thinck there is a BUG or something with the cahce Atm Cahce is useless i do have 1 TB cache but even if my drive is put to Yes (Mover transfers files from cache to array) it still moves files from arry to cache. This is i a huge problem when the array is 16 tb and the cache is 1 tb settings pilsner-diagnostics-20221001-2049.zip

When the cace is put to yes?
October 3, 20223 yr Community Expert Like mentioned it's not possible for Unraid to move data form array to cache with cache=yes, something else is going on, possible with how you have the containers configured.
