Wireguard - no handshake - after upgrade to 6.11.0

Hi,

 

I upgraded my unraid to 6.11.0 from 6.10.3 ... so I had to reboot the system.

 

After the reboot my wireguard VPN stopped working. No handshake. I do not know what changed or how to fix this.

 

I hope someone can help. I will provide any information I can

Sorry, I don't have the answer for you regarding WG on Unraid but I thought I would mention that if you are using a Fritz!Box device (which it looks like from the screen shots), they have a Fritz Labs version available for most routers that now has Wireguard functionality. This quickly solved similar issues I was having with lack of handshake (and lack of any meaningful feedback in wireguard on my client devices).

Looks like your static route subnet mask is not correct.

 

if you want to static route a /24 network its 255.255.255.0 insteasd of 255.255.0.0 (/16)

Also, is UDP forwarded?

I sometimes have to stop and restart Wireguard at both ends to restore the handshake.

already fixed that.

 

I have updated to 6.11.1 in the meantime.

 

after some reboots wireguard is now working again. 😒
