please help i removed my rx 580 since it was not in used and now my sas card does not detect my sata drives even its listed on the devices on unraid. i try to readd my gpu but still all my drives undetected

Which model HBA? I'm seeing an LSI but no driver is being loaded.

Did you have the GPU passed through to a VM? If so go into the VM settings and remove that, when you change hardware the IDs change and if not removed it can end up passing the HBA through to the VM.

i am using sas 9207-8i

my vm  gpu is set to vnc

Graphics Card: VNC

VNC Video Driver: XL (best)

Then you might have a problem with the HBA, it's being detected in a weird way:

01:00.0 Mass storage controller [0180]: Broadcom / LSI 53c875J [1000:008f] (rev 05)

Typical 9207-8i looks like this:

01:00.0 Serial Attached SCSI controller [0107]: Broadcom / LSI SAS2308 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-2 [1000:0087] (rev 05)
    Subsystem: Broadcom / LSI 9207-8i SAS2.1 HBA [1000:3020]

And I think that's why no driver is being loaded, it's being detected with a weird model and with a different vendor:device ID, try it in a different slot/PC if available to see it makes a difference, you can also try re-flashing the firmware.

what cards are bound to vfio. as you removed a card if you didnt remove vfio first it it may be picking up the sata card.

 

ill try on my other mobo when i get back. hope its not the hba problem. before that it works fine just removed the gpu sudden issues appear.
