After upgrading from 6.9.2 to 6.11.05 I can't connect to my shares any longer - from neither Macos or Windows 10. I can't even see the shares but only Tower (the server itself). I've tried downgrading but that didn't solve the problem.

In Macos Finder I get this error:

This file server will not allow any additional users to log on. Try to connect again later.

 

I've attached the diagnostics and hope somebody can guide me to a solution as I use the shares quite a lot.

It looks like you have your Unraid shares set to 'Public'.  Microsoft has changed access to Public shares.  I can't remember where in the Forum this is talked about, but you'll have to make some changes to Windows clients to access Public shares.  Not sure about Mac computers.

That doesn't explain the errors on Unraid when I start the SMB

UPDATE! I just formatted my flash drive in a Windows computer, installed 6.11.5 on it and copied the config folder over from a backup I took earlier today. After booting up again the shares are working. So something seems to go wrong when updating from 6.9.2 to 6.11.5 and the solution is to make a fresh install instead.

I also get frequent problems with accessing SMB shares from other devices on my network, that I can not explain.

 

Proxmox error: "create storage failed: connection check for storage 'btower' failed - tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED (500)" 

A printer also had problems using a share to write scans to.

Both appear the browse the share regardless, to let me select the folder/share to use. But when actually trying to use the shares it fails.

 

My workaround / solution: Create a new Unraid user, to access same share. Never understood why. Seems like a bug yes.
