The syslog apparently gets wiped when the server crashes? Mine just shutdown for some unexplained non-power reason and wanted to look in the syslog for clues. Is the syslog really wiped or can I retrieve what was happening prior to the crash.

 

Additionally is there some kind of event viewer I can look at to see what hardware clues might be found outside of the syslog or is that all I got.

Well not solved exactly but answered. I see now I need to pull the flash drive out before rebooting to grab the syslog, NOW I know. ))

 

 

The syslogs stored on the flash are not current. It is in inadvisable to remove the flash before shutting down. See this for info on capturing the current syslog: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=9880.0 If the server shuts down unexpectedly the current syslog is lost.
