Cicero
Hi. I have put a new LSI 9201-8i HBA into my server to expand by another drive but when I look to add it to the array it isn't showing. I can see the HBA in the bios but not the drive. Not sure what the next step to diagnose it is. Thanks for any help you can give me. babylon-diagnostics-20230816-1318.zip Quote Link to comment

Forward and reverse breakout cables look the same but only the correct one works. another possibility is that the drive has the 3.3v issue and needs the relevant pin taping off. Quote Link to comment
Cicero
I'm pretty sure its a forward breakout cable. This is the ebay listing I bought https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175701231618. The HDD is a Exos x20 which, again, I'm pretty sure doesn't require this. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
HBA is being detected and initialized correctly, though it's on a very old firmware, so good idea to update, if issue remains it's could be a cable issue, or some issue with the HBA ports not working. Quote Link to comment
Cicero
Ok, I'll give it a go. Thank you very much for your help! Quote Link to comment
Cicero
I have looked for the firmware package and the 9201-8i doesnt seem to appear on the site or on any official product listings. Is there a different type of firmware I could use? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Look for the 9210-8i under legacy HBA, it's the same. Quote Link to comment
