SuperW2 Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I just upgraded a 750GB in my Array with a new 1.5 GB... I want to re-purpose that drive as a large Cache Drive. Do I need to do anything to wipe out the data/stuff on the drive before I upgrade my 500GB cache drive?
dgaschk Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Pre-clear the drive and the it will be empty. You can run pre-clear with the -z option and it will finish in seconds.

dgaschk Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Or you can assign the disk as cache and manually delete the contents before the mover runs.
SuperW2 Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 I actually just did a full preclear (although likely un-necessary)... will install this evening.
