October 29, 20232 yr From Unraid to PC speed is about 250MB/s but from PC to Unraid its about 130MB/s. PC is a Nuc 12 with i225v nic with a 1tb nvme. Server has a TP-LINK TX401 10Gbe (Aqauntia Atlantic) nic and Toshiba 20tb MG10 drives. Both are connected to an Asus XT12 Pro mesh router 2.5gbe ports. I am transferring a single 60GB video file to and from each device to test. The server and pc nics are recognised and running at 2.5gbe. I am assuming that the Nuc is fault but what can I do to resolve this? Edited October 29, 20232 yr by pras1011
October 29, 20232 yr Author Server bridging and onboard nic has been disabled already. In the future I am planning to get a NUC 13 with a intel i226 nic. Edited October 29, 20232 yr by pras1011
October 29, 20232 yr Community Expert NUC will be fine, blame it on the Aquantic. You need to turn on "flow control" on the card and the switch (I am afraid with this cheap switch you will run into difficulties, i looks like it is unmanagable). check with ethtool, you need to see lines like: Quote Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ FIBRE ] Supported link modes: 1000baseX/Full 10000baseCR/Full 10000baseSR/Full Supported pause frame use: Symmetric Receive-only Supports auto-negotiation: No Supported FEC modes: Not reported Advertised link modes: 1000baseX/Full 10000baseCR/Full 10000baseSR/Full Advertised pause frame use: Symmetric Advertised auto-negotiation: No Advertised FEC modes: Not reported Speed: 10000Mb/s Duplex: Full Auto-negotiation: off Port: FIBRE PHYAD: 0 Transceiver: internal Supports Wake-on: d Wake-on: d Current message level: 0x00000014 (20) link ifdown Link detected: yes If neither advertised nor supported, forget it, it will never work. Then you need to throw out the aquantic card and buy a 2,5G card instead.
October 29, 20232 yr Author I am not using a switch. How do I turn flow control on? How do I run iperf?
