bitswall
Hi guys, this problem has happened in my unraid for a long time. for example, I ping www.unraid.net 1. When I ping full domain name, system response too slow. 2.The system resolve domain name to IP very fast. 3. I ping IP address very fast that means nothing to do with routing problem. I recored the video for this issue, please see the attachement. my system os is 6.12.5 Many Thanks. ping_domain_name_too_slow.mp4 Quote Link to comment
MAM59
my guess (can't proove it) is that they have artificially slowed it down in the binary. It does not honor the "-i" (interval) option too. Normally this would default to 1 s. But it seems it always sleeps at least 3 seconds between packets. If you try the "-f" (flood ping) option, you see it can do much much faster. So I think "this is wanted" by limetech (no idea what it should be good for, also the sleep comes BEFORE the first packet, not AFTER as it should) Anyway, you can consider it harmless. Nothing wrong with your network connection. Quote Link to comment

Edit: Mhmmm, might not be the case. Seems to be an unraid/cloudflare thing tbh. All my domains that are handled by cloudflare behave that way. The docker container ping just fine, its just wonky within unraids ping itself. ping.mp4 Edited February 15 by Mainfrezzer added video Quote Link to comment

So it seems different of your testing. 2. I can't understand the relationship between ping -f and this issue. ping.mp4 5.5 MB · 0 downloads Quote Link to comment
