Can I move data now and add Parity drive later?

I have a question, I have a synology and just build my unraid nas.

 

I have 1x 12 TB HD at the moment.

 

My question is, I have another 12 tb on the way here and won't be here for a week. Can I start moving my data from my synology to unraid and add the Parity drive after?

 

Or just wait, create the parity drive first?

    move the data first, add parity later. this will be much quicker than the other way round. And NEVER try to do both things at the same time, it will come to an halt!
