Any thoughts? Seriously, I have forgotten why I was going this route verses just buying a lime tech system.

Any thoughts? Seriously, I have forgotten why I was going this route verses just buying a lime tech system.

Lime-Tech is not currently selling systems.

If you are interested in a system, check the Greenleaf link in my sig.

You can also check the Buy, Sell, Trade forum for others that will build unRAID servers.

Any particular reason the configurations on greenleaf don't use 3TB drives?

Any particular reason the configurations on greenleaf don't use 3TB drives?

I would guess that as any responsible retailer (and i assume warranty issuer), they are not going to use beta software, so 3T drives are not possible yet.

Exactly right.  Our warranty only covers the latest stable version of unRAID, which is currently 4.7.  This version does not support hard drives larger than 2.2 TB.

We have had some customers volunteer to void their warranty and request the use of 3 TB drives.  In fact, one current customer was generous enough to purchase a brand new 4 TB and allow us to test it on his server as well as our other configurations!  The drive should arrive tomorrow, and we'll test it over the next week or two.

We are happy to accommodate all kinds of customization requests, we just recommend unRAID 4.7 and 2 TB drives to the majority of our customers.
